Morning All,

It has been brought to our attention that clients in Kilcoy and surrounds seem to think that their run is being removed from next year and have begun looking for an alternative groomer.

This IS NOT the case. Our fortnightly Kilcoy run is not changing at all. We are still servicing all our clients in the local area and the only run that will not be going ahead in the New Year is the Peachester run due to the distance involved, as it just isnโ€™t viable anymore.

I am not sure who has been making these comments and why, but we can assure you that if you are affected by changes in the New Year, then you have already been informed of this. If you have not heard anything from us, then that means there are no changes for you and the service to your area.

If any of our clients hear anything from a source other than us, please get in touch with either of us to discuss, as we are the only people who know what is happening with our business ๐Ÿ˜Š

Regards
Leanne and Sam

Hell of a week this week. Full and long days. As well as all the dogs I sheared 17 sheep!!! That included 2 adult Rams, 2 ram lambs and 2 wethers. So well behaved ewes and some very obnoxious stubborn ewes that gave me a fight as good as the rams. 3 baby ewes that were a little wild but calmed down quickly. This is my Annie's family. Her dad is the ram with the black head. Photo taken when I let them out to graze in the trees.

Morning everyone,

Can you please have your dogs ready to go today for Sam as we are experiencing some health issues with one of our dogs and need to be on time today with appointments.

Thank you, Leanne

"NEW YEAR UPDATE"

As previously mentioned, we are in the process of making some changes to our business which will come into effect from the 1st January.

There are some runs which we will no longer be able to do, generally due to the distance travelled, and we are in the process of notifying those clients.

We are not taking on any more full grooming clients, dogs that require clipping, regardless of their size.

Unfortunately with Sam's old injuries received from previous clients animals, we will also need to find an alternative groomer for some clients as Sam's hands are no longer working to be able to complete those animals to her high standards. This is not something we take lightly as our clients are very important to us, but have no other choice due to health.

With the rising costs to run a mobile business as well as insurance premiums going up, we have no choice but to increase our grooming prices from the 1st January 2025. I know this is not what most people want to hear, but we have to ensure our business is viable.

Clients will be notified personally of changes over the next 4-6 weeks in the lead up to Christmas.

We do hope that you understand the above changes that we need to make in order to continue to provide a premium standard of service to the local community, which we have now been doing for nearly 7 years ๐Ÿ˜Š

Regards
Leanne and Sam

Going away for Christmas and or the New Year and need pet sitting? Now is the time to book in with us!

After the exhausting amount of bookings we had last year, we have decided to cap this year with the number of bookings we take. We will also be requesting a deposit for each booking due to other issues we encountered last year as well.

So be quick, we have already started to receive requests and will get to a point that we are unable to take any more.

Hello everyone,

We are in the final quarter of this year and Sam and I are looking at our business and changes for the new year which isn't very far away. I know, ridiculous right!

I will be coming out with Sam here and there in the lead up to Xmas as well to see how she is going with everything especially with the arthritis in her hand causing her some grief.

There are already a few changes we are thinking about, and will make final decisions over the next month or two once we have looked further into them. Of course, our clients will always be kept in the loop directly should the changes affect them.

But for now, we hope you all have a great week!

Regards
Leanne and Sam

Just letting everyone know that Sam is working tomorrow and will then be out of action from Tuesday to Sunday evening. If she is able to, confirmations and time sheets will be sent out over next weekend, but please keep in mind that anything may change during this next week
Thank you everyone ๐Ÿ˜Š

Evening all

It's Leanne here. Just wanted to give our clients the heads up that at some point this month Sam will be out of action for a week, which is not by choice, and possibly at short notice. A personal situation has come up that we will need to deal with.

We will do our best to give clients as much notice as possible if your appointment has to be moved to a different day and time to avoid upsetting your scheduled bookings too much.

Please accept our apologies in advance for this, and we will keep the disruption to as minimal as we can.

Thanks and regards
Leanne ๐Ÿ˜Š

Finally had a quick moment to look at what the team achieved at the 6th Border Collie National and to say we are proud is really an understatement! We cannot believe how well our guys did over 4 very intense days of competing in every single sport bar 1, plus the fact that we were also running a stall and a grooming trailer and stewarding where we could too. I think we are all still in recovery mode to be honest, lol.

A massive massive thankyou must go out to those that handled our dogs for us in scent work, and Kirsty for handling Snowy for me when I just wasnโ€™t able to due to injury. Thanks to those that also helped us handle in the show ring when we were stuck elsewhere. To those that helped on the stall and kept it running, a big huge fat arse kiss from me and Sam, thank you very very much.

We did not place in the conformation ring this time around, but thatโ€™s ok. The best of the best from around the country all took to the stage to show off their lines and congratulations to those that got the top spots. The Wonelook Kennel of 15 years is still quite a baby kennel compared to some of those that showcased at the event. However, I would be very happy to say that we well and truly showed the versatility of our lines over the 4 days and hopefully that was noticed by a few.

Finally, to the one and only dearest Sam, who has been doing all of the training, most of the handling and all of the organising and managed to not lose the plot, thank you ๐Ÿ˜˜

Now to the results. Unfortunately a lot of cards didnโ€™t have places on them, so not sure where the dogs placed overall in the scheme of things, but we ended up with 36 quallies and 7 titles for the team, plus some top spots and a Herding Encouragement award for Little Bear.

Just a Quick post cause I am wrecked.

Herding - Scout got his pass and won encouragement award.
Destiny- very first herding trial. - instinct test Pass and a pass in the first level.

Scout ran in 34 degrees and full sun and collapsed when he got out of the ring. He recovered in time for scentwork.

Scentwork Interiors and Containers
Lyric - 2 passes finishing her novice scentwork title, novice interior title and her novice Containers title with her favourite person Elsie handling.
Dottie - 2 passes finishing her novice interiors title and her novice Containers title with Me handling.
Snowy - 2 passes finishing her novice scentwork title, novice interior title and her novice Containers title with her friend Meg handling.
Scouty Bear - with his equal most favourite Aunty Daph handling- 2 passes finishing her novice scentwork title, novice interior title and her novice Containers title! A clean sweep of Quallies over 2 different sports for him and heat exhaustion. He has tried his heart out today.
Our Little D (Destiny) .... she's exhausted! We arrived at Durack and within minutes she was rushed into her first search without having any time to settle. Her mother was flustered too. Unfortunately she missed her Containers search. Couldn't focus. She nailed her Interiors after a 90min nap in her crate finishing her novice Interiors title with Leanne. Super proud of her today.

I'm stuffed and pretty sure I have heat stroke. I'm dying for a shower and bed. Back on board for exteriors and vehicles scentwork tomorrow and double tricks trial. Breeders team in the showring - Lyric, Dot, Destiny and Scout in the late arvo and opening ceremony.

Off and running to the 6th Border Collie National!! Today we begin 4 full days of pedigreed Border collie restricted Competition across Conformation, Herding, Tricks, 4 Elements of Scentwork, Dances with Dogs (not my dogs!), Agility, Jumpers, Games, Obedience and Rally Obedience. I have multiple dogs entered in every sport bar DWD. I have been training my arse off for the last 6 weeks since the Agility nationals.
This morning we start at Post Man's Ridge with Herding. Scout and Destiny start off.
This afternoon we travel to Durack to compete in the first 2 Elements of Scentwork, Containers and Interiors.
I will try to update our results each day.
Feel free to come down and watch any of the 4 days. Come find me - bring Dare iced coffee... lol we also have a Stall clearing out all our Toy stock at bargain prices. First in best dressed. I want to go home with an empty trailer. My grooming trailer is there too so I won't be too far away.
Over 500 dogs from all over the country competing. Its going to awesome, extremely stressful and absolutely Exhausting. Very testing for me and my dogs, working through all 7 sports disciplines in a 4 day space of time.

You can follow some of the action on the Nationals page.

4.5months of waiting.... the day finally came. Bath and blowdry this morning then some time in the sun. This afternoon the reveal. Clipped both on a long blade as the nights are still cool. No you cannot clip paddock sheep like this normally. Poppy and Annie have been taught to be bathed, blow-dried and clipped standing since they were tiny. Also I stripped the lanolin, dirt and oils from their fleece with a hot water scrub this morning and they have a completely w**d free yard. That's the only reason a dog clipper will go through their fleece. Annie has changed colour with age but poppy is still super black. 10months old now. Both are feeling great this evening.
