🚨 Handsome Stranger Alert – FOUND CAT IN HARROGATE 🚨

This dashing gentleman—aka Sir Silver Whiskers—has wandered into the good life at Vet in the Hills, and while we’re loving the company, we suspect his real family is missing him!

🐱 About our mystery guest:

Male silver tabby with movie-star looks
Super friendly, smoochy, and seems to think we work for him (we do)
Blind (though he may not have been when he set off on his little adventure)
Desexed, but no tattoo to prove it—modesty, perhaps?
No microchip (come on, buddy, it's 2025!)
No collar, no ID, just a heart of gold
He’s currently enjoying the royal treatment at Vet in the Hills, but we’d really like to reunite him with his original staff—uh, we mean family.

📣📣📣Important Update to Our After-Hours Service

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible clients. Your care and consideration when using our after-hours emergency number never go unnoticed. Most calls we receive are for genuine emergencies, and we’re truly grateful for your thoughtfulness.

That said, as many of you know, Dr Zoe has been the primary person taking these calls. Even though they’re infrequent, calls that come in between 10pm and 6am can severely disrupt her ability to rest and recharge — which is vital to ensuring the quality of care we provide during the day.

To protect Dr Zoe’s wellbeing and maintain a sustainable work-life balance, we’ll be reducing our overnight after-hours coverage. Starting tonight (13th June), we will no longer be available for emergency calls between 10pm and 6am. This decision has not been made lightly and we will continue to provide after-hours support up until 10pm and look after your pets in the clinic as previously.

We’re fortunate to have excellent 24/7 emergency care providers within an hour’s radius, such as The Austin Vet Specialists & Emergency. If your pet experiences a true emergency in that time period, we recommend contacting them or another emergency clinic nearby.

👉 Please note: For our breeder clients, the same arrangements for whelping support continue to apply as previously discussed.

🥐🐾 LOST DOG ALERT – With a Taste for Pastries! 🐾🥐

Found: One scruffy, suspiciously well-fed dog loitering outside the Lobethal Bakery like he’d just finished a croissant and was eyeing off a sausage roll for dessert.

Microchip scan says he’s from Victoria — which raises a few questions:
🧭 Did he hitch a ride across the border?
🥐 Is he touring Australia's finest bakeries?
🕵️‍♂️ Or is this all part of a larger carb-fueled adventure?

Despite his questionable snack habits, he’s friendly, charming, and clearly someone’s beloved mate. We'd love to reunite him with his actual home (as opposed to his chosen one... the bakery).

If you recognise this scruffy little traveller, or know someone missing a dog from Victoria with a taste for flaky pastries, give us a call! 📞

🐾 Happy Reunion Alert! 🐾

Today, we were able to help a very special stray dog find their way back home — and it’s all thanks to a microchip! 🐕❤️

This sweet pup had been wandering, but thanks to the quick thinking of our team and the magic of modern technology, we were able to track down their owner — a hardworking livestock transporter who had been missing their loyal companion. 🚚🐾

After some quick scanning and a few phone calls, we were able to drop him off at a semi-trailer-friendly spot in Mannum to be reunited with his owner! The joy and relief on both sides were absolutely priceless. 💕🐶

Remember, microchipping your pets is one of the easiest ways to ensure they’ll always find their way home, no matter what. If your pet is microchipped, it’s a good idea to double-check your contact details are up to date.

We love these happy endings! 🎉🐾

🐾 LOST & FOUND: BULLDOG EDITION 🐾

Well, it’s happened again. For the second time this week, a dog has wandered into our clinic as if it were a regular Tuesday. This time, it's a bulldog—sturdy, snorty, and sitting in reception like he owns the place. 🐶💼

No collar, no ID, just a face full of confidence and jowls. If you're missing a bulldog—or know someone who is—send them our way! He's safe, full of sass, and currently judging us from behind the front desk.

Found woodside-lobethal roundabout, he was probably heading to the Charleston Hotel 🥂

🚨 FOUND: One Very Confused Tiny Dog 🚨

This pint-sized pupper showed up like they owned the place — no ID, just big main-character energy and a look that says “I made choices.”

📍 Last seen boldly strutting near: the Providore in woodside

Vital stats: Small. Fluffy (or scruffy). Cute enough to get away with anything. Possibly part chihuahua definitely part drama.

They’re currently safe, well-fed, and slightly annoyed we won’t let them run loose.

Got a new pup at home? Our next round of Puppy Pre-School kicks off in May, and spots are now open!

Over 5 fun-filled weeks, your puppy will learn basic commands, confidence-building, social skills and more—all in a safe, supportive environment. Classes run on Tuesday evenings at the clinic, led by Kylie.

Puppies must be between 8-12 weeks old and have had their first vaccination.
