It was a dog fight at Newie as Olivia Chambers held off the challenge in style for the Allan Kehoe yard. LEASE was under siege at the furlong marker but to the credit of the horse he dug deep to bring up win 3 at start 47.
Those reading this stat would surmise that he is a bit of a battler but the $341k in the till would suggest not. This was off the back of a 3rd in the 2021 $1M Bondi Stakes behind Hilal. The 6YO Choisir gelding came to us as a C1 and with a 10-2:2:3 record it’s safe to say he is enjoying the training regime of Allan Kehoe Racing.

There will be plenty of hype surrounding the Kooringal Stud bred SHAGGY who let rip and demolished them at the Sunshine Coast over the short course. Allan has always pegged this 2YO son of Sandbar as his $200k Wellington Boot horse and he is on his way after today. The team lease him from Kooringal Stud and all of the education has been poured into this very talented gelding.

What a debut by Shaggy today as he showcased the talent that Allan has been so bullish about. The 2YO Sandbar gelding was sent out a $1.20 favourite and the punters had it spot on. This horse has a very bright future and we can’t wait to shake up Shaggy and see what’s under the bonnet.

DARK DREAM TURNS BACK THE CLOCK ⏰
It was another tenacious display by the old marvel DARK DREAM at Eagle Farm. The 2018 Gr1 Queensland Derby winner has amassed almost $2.5M since 2017 and today we saw the 9YO back in the winners stall.
