Maroochy muster and Gympie Pony club Showjumping.

These super stars traveled to Gympie today for jumping equitation. Everyone rode amazing and horses were brilliant.

What a busy weekend for the OFRA team.

Joe Gardiner clinic at OFRA on Suturday saw Sharon, Emily, Jacinda, Justine, Zoe, Zia, Angelique, Gav and Kel all enjoying a great morning of training horsemanship and liberty with Joe and were fortunate to be treated with a special demo from Joe and his horse Pablo.

Zia and Vader ventured out on Sunday to a team penning clinic at Gympie and they had a great morning and Vader really enjoyed the cattle work.

Nambour pony club show jumping and dressage was attending by Kylie, Kenzie, Ayana, Izzy, Teale and Samara with their horses and we had Isla Cassidy, Mataya, Eliza and Juliette helping out and cheering the riders along.
Every one had great success placing in their classes.

The First jump club of the year was held last Saturday and Sunday and we had Isla, Ayana, Juliette and Izzy head down for a few rounds. All riders and horses jumped well and had a great day.

Ayana and Izzy headed off to their first pony club competition of the year at Burpengary.
The girls rode amazing and the horses performed great.
🏅🏅Ayana and Sonic were in the 80-1m class and coming home with Reserve Champion and a 3rd on QP.
🏅🏅Izzy and Roxy finished 3rd in the 70-90cm class.

What a great start to 2024 with a two day camp training with some amazing coaches down at the Maroochy Pony club.
Lessons with Clinton, Chloe, Kyrie, Gina, Yvonne, Arianne and Colin were thoroughly enjoyed by all our riders who attended.

Bringing our horses back into work…

So, I’m getting a lot of people asking me… ‘should I compete this weekend’?

Now most horses have had a significant break over Christmas and new year plus we’ve had a tonne of wet weather.. so my question to you would be.. if you’ve sat on the couch for months would you go out and run a marathon after having only a few short runs?

Just like us our horses need to build up muscle and stamina again. If we don’t do this properly we are risking bad muscle soreness and potentially injury.

So check in. Is your horse fit enough to compete? Set yourself up for success and bring your horses back into work the right way. Drop them down a class and do a training round for your first comp and don’t do a max amount of classes if you feel they’re not. We have a whole year ahead of us with many comps to come…

Good planning and correct ex*****on leads to success so start your year of right. Plan and execute and give your horses the best opportunity to build muscle and be competition fit.

Kenzie and Juliette jumping into the Christmas holidays, Boomer and Leon putting in 110% effort into their lesson. These boys will have an exciting 2024 with their riders.

Nsw state championships - CT and ODE

Boomy and Kenzie made the trip down to Coffs Harbour Pony Club for the NSW State Champs 2023 representing QLD with 9 other riders who made the trip down.
Boom travelled like a dream and performed great coming home with Reserve Champion combined training and 6th under 17yrs ODE.
An overnight stay at cabarita for a lovely beach ride with fellow QLD rider broke up the trip home just perfectly.

Zone teams 2023
Ayana and Sonic and Kenzie and Boomy completed along side 3 other talented riders in their teams over two days at Caboolture.
Ayana’s team finished a 2nd and 3rd to take out 4th overall.
Kenzie’s team finished champions overall winning each class for their age group and also finished with a 3 way tie for highest points team for the entire comp.

A great morning out at the Sunshine Coast showjump club today for 5 of our riders and their horses.
🦄Ayana and Sonic, 🦄Juliette and Sparkles, 🦄Angelique and Dior and 🦄Kenzie and Boomer jumped around the 80 and 90 courses, with Kenzie and Boomy 🌟walking away with the first place in the 90cm.
🦄Izzy jumped QP around the 60 and 70cm class with some lovely rounds.
Kenzie also took 🦄Jack out for his first jump round and threw 🦄Sapphire on the trailer for a round also and borrowed Teales little mare 🦄Flare for an outting too. Those three all jumping well and clear.
