It has certainly been foreign body week here! This sweet little sausage Noble, had a very sore mouth with a green foreign body lodged up behind his rear molar tooth. With some gentle sedation, the foreign body was removed. It was a little puzzle as to what it actually was, but mum thinks its a piece of chewed up duplo (large lego). Thankfully after a good rest, he is back to his busy self! 😁🐾

🎅🤶It's that time again! Our famous (well we think it is) Christmas raffle. We have not finalised the prizes yet, as we keep adding to it! Its getting bigger and better! This is the loot so far........

🎅🤶 It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
So much is happening at the clinic....
We are so excited that our doggie bandanas are in for all our Christmas patients...
Huge thanks to Louis for being our first recipient this morning, and posing like a true legend! The nurses have a little selection of cat and dog toys, and treats too, if you are looking for something a little bit special and different!
Stay tuned for the annual Christmas raffle too, its all coming together and its bigger and better than ever! 🥳

This gentle giant is a true gentleman, dear Rusty. Rusty presented unwell with a large swelling at the corner of his jaw (submandibular area)... An ultrasound revealed a suspected foreign body (see the red arrow). Dr Marcus managed to remove it safely (its a tricky area to operate on - lots of important structures) and completely... And the drum roll 🥁..what was the foreign body....a GRASS SEED! Rusty has made a full recovery, and is back to his cheeky self! WELL done Rusty. 🥳

++++PARVO VIRUS++++

We are getting a lot of enquires regarding the recent outbreaks of Parvovirus in the Northern & Western Suburbs. Parvovirus is highly contagious and can be fatal if untreated. It primarily affects unvaccinated puppies and dogs. Puppies or dogs affected will show gastrointestinal signs such a vomiting, diarrhoea and lethargy.

As we are a tourist location, we expect to see a influx of visiting pets over the Summer and festive seasons. The best protection is to ensure your pet is up to date with their vaccinations.

Oh... just a reminder that Adelaide animal emergency and referral centre on ANZAC highway has now closed (due to land requisition for a new road)... they are moving to 102 Magill Road this week.
