Sire: Total Hope is the result of a cross of the amazing multiple World & European Champion, Totilas and the amazing Weihegold, herself, an Oldenburg champion mare, Burg Cup and Louisdor Prize winner and, under Isabell Werth, Olympic and three-time World Cup winner as well as four-time European champion.

Total Hope started his career as a Swedish licensing winner, dressage horse champion, World Dressage Horse Championship finalist (6 years old) and World Championships bronze winner (7 years old). He is the only stallion to win both the Burg Cup and Louisdor Prize winner and this year gave a beautiful performance at the Paris Olympics.

Superb ET filly by 2023 4yo Bundeschampion Escanto PS (Escamillo x Furstenball x Totilas) from imported Elite KWPN mare, J’Adore (Zack x Johnson x Houston).

Sire: Escanto PS was accepted for Oldenburg breeding in January 2022. Four months later the Hanoverian verband also approved him. He won the shortened stallion performance test with a whopping 9,43 and did a 50-day stallion performance test in Schlieckau in the autumn of 2022. Here he was reported to show “Fantastic willingness to perform, very good basic paces (9.0 for trot, 9.5 for canter, 8.5 for walk) and a fantastic 10 for rideability by the test rider”: in 2022, Escanto PS was the only stallion to pass his stallion performance test in Schlieckau with a final score above nine, 9.12 to be precise.

Under American Brandi Roenick he won the 2023 Oldenburg Young Horse Championships in Rastede followed by gold at the 2023 Bundeschampionate. In 2024 Escanto won the Oldenburg Main Premium Title.

In March of this year our gorgeous Watermill Wedgwood and I commenced our competition journey together. As a ‘late forty-something’ amateur rider who could count the number of official competitions attended in the previous ten years on two hands, I do often wonder what possessed me but here we are….

The past nine months have been a steep learning curve but the one thing that has been consistent has been the impeccable nature and behaviour of our gorgeous boy even in the midst of the breeding season. At every single competition he wins a new group of fans and I am forever grateful to him for his generosity and patience with me.

I am super proud over the past few months to have ticked off my personal goals for the year:
- get (largely) on top of my nerves (at least I can eat on competition day now 😜)
- achieve a 70%+ score at elementary
- qualify and ride at The Victorian Dressage Festival.

I am even more proud to have had some achievements I hadn’t dared to consider such as:
- winning an elementary championship
- Receiving a Dressage Victoria Bronze Performance Medal
- Placing 8th overall and 3rd AOR in one of my tests at my first ever DF.

I am also super thrilled that the judges comments on our tests at Dressage Festival were unanimous in stating that Wedgwood shows ‘impressive potential’ and is ‘a horse for the future’. Now I just have to keep working on trying to catch/keep up….

🦄 The Filly Fairy has visited again!! 🦄

Thrilled to have our last foal for the season safely on the ground. An absolutely gorgeous black filly by our stunning Watermill Wedgwood out of our super producing Johnson mare, Flowervale Jasmine.

Jasmine was inseminated at home by my darling Dr Arden Woodford so it was very fitting this special filly arrived on her birthday!

Huge thank you to Whittlesea Plenty Valley Dressage Club for another well run event today.

35 degrees and a migraine are not a great mix for competing and my fried brain couldn’t really pull it together in our first test. We had some very costly mistakes (my fault) but our gorgeous boy, Watermill Wedgwood looked after me and we managed a respectable 4th.

I did manage to pull it together for our second test though and was wrapt to achieve my personal goal of a 70%+ score with a 70.5% and 1st.

And we even got our first championship together!

Despite it being breeding season and Wedgwood being collected during the week he was his usual well mannered self as always.
We are so blessed to have this beautiful boy 💖.

Like brother like sister 😍

Our goal here at Flowervale is to breed for temperament, trainability, movement and soundness but I’m not ashamed to admit that we like our horses to be beautiful as well….

The gorgeous Flowervale Romencio (For Romance) owned by Stacey Smith and the stunning Flowervale Diamond Deluxe (Daily Diamond) owned by Samantha Dummett, both from our super producing and now devastatingly deceased Flowervale Florencia (Florencia).

Yesterday we headed out with our gorgeous Watermill Wedgwood to the beautiful Lachaby Farm for a super poles lesson with the amazing Sue Chandler. Although not Wedgwood’s first poles session by a long shot, I’m pretty green and it was our first poles lesson together. Wedgwood was impeccably behaved as always. We had a super group of riders and had a lot of fun! I’m pretty sure Wedgwood was looking for the cross country course by the time we finished but I’ll be happy to stick with the poles lessons for now 😂
