Date: Sunday 15th September 2024
Cost: $20 per head for members of a Galloway Association (AGA, ABGA & GA); $30 for Members of a non-Galloway breed Society, and $40 for others. Children under 12 years of age : $5. Morning and afternoon teas, and lunch will be provided.
• 8:30-9:30am: Tour of property, mix and mingle, on-the-go Q&A, and morning Tea.
• 9:30am: Cattle breaking. You will be shown how to do the initial and crucial first tie-up and lead. Everyone who wants to will be able to participate.
• 11:30am: Colours outcomes in Belties and how the dun dilution gene works on both red and black animals (with examples).
• 12pm-1pm: Lunch and Lucky door raffle. How to make your own cattle leads. After lunch, make & keep a “3-loop” cattle lead.
• 1pm- 1.30pm: Ear tattooing and applying NLIS and other tags.
• 2 pm: Collection of tail hair samples for DNA requirements
• 2:30pm: Tick fever and 7-in-1 injections.
• Afternoon tea
We will have breaking sets available for $60 per set (8 metre main line with loops and 3 leads). If you think that you may want to buy one, please let us know so that we can make them up.
