We picked up these pretty ladies today 😍
I'm excited to see the colour of their yolks now we have grass. Our last flock had beautiful orange yolks but we had to supplement their greens.

Hello Barefoot Warriors!!!
The good news is, I've found my sewing machine! The bad news is, I've yet to find the box with all my cottons and materials.. but I'm getting closer to creating more eco-friendly products for you all, so I'll call that a win.

I'll also be creating a blog for those interested in following our homesteading journey. The new property has a decent sized veggie patch, small aviary to house a few chooks and approx 20 fruit and nut trees. Add the fruit trees we already have and we're off to a decent start. Obviously to become fully self-sufficient we'll need a lot more growing space (and a bigger chook yard 😉), so if you're into living your best life and learning along the way, be sure to follow us as we learn a crap load of life's amazing lessons.

I've been super quiet this year and like everyone, we've had an intense 10 months. We went from the bushfire to Covid, then sold our property and have been living with family while we are waiting for our new property. We are so close to moving in and being able to get all our belongings out of storage (excited is an understatement!!).

We'll get back into it once we are settled and we can't wait to show you what's next 🙏

Sometimes I think I could do more, then I do things like fit an entire weeks worth of rubbish in an empty 1kg protein bag. Between composting, chickens, worms, recycling and redcycle, I've managed to reduce our landfill waste dramatically.
