When I am talking to owners I like to let them know to listen to their horse because they will tell you all you need to know about them, how they are feeling, what they like and this was one of the best reviews I got back - these 3 horses NEVER lay together one is always on watch but after all 3 had a session with me this is what happened.

If anyone can help please do.

This has to be one of my favourite topics and if you have had a session with me you will know what I am talking about.
Horse's muscle like ours has a memory so if something is uncomfortable or hurts them they will avoid it at all cost.
Let me humanise it for you: You have gone to the gym and its leg day and you have smashed that and gone well up and beyond what you need and it felt ok, but the next morning you wake up and you can't move.
You can feel every bit of your muscles and fibres and your muscles go - "Ain't going to do that again." - same for our horses!

Horse bingo!
What one would you pick and why?
I think I would go for 6 depending on what the place is like?
And then it would be a tight second between 7 and 8

When you have a bad day, it shows — in your mood, your body, your energy.
Your horse is no different. 💫

That’s why I take a holistic approach to bodywork — blending touch, light, energy, and emotional awareness to help your horse release, relax, and reconnect.

It’s not just about fixing muscles; it’s about listening to the whole horse. 🐴

Who do people think they are? Often larger riders are more aware of their body positions and the type of horse they ride.

I have no idea where this came from (if you know, let us know), but a friend and I were talking about this just the other day. I'm not the skinniest person on the block, but my horse can carry my weight just fine. She's short, but she's extremely stocky.

The truth is a skinny rider who is bouncing all over the saddle and balancing on the reins will do a lot more damage than a larger rider who has good balance and soft hands. So instead of shaming someone who is a little larger, why don't we applaud them for getting out and enjoying horses. Maybe they're trying to lose weight. Maybe they're overcoming an injury (I gained a ton of weight after I hurt my back several years ago, and I'm still working on getting rid of it). Maybe they're new to the sport. You never know what someone else is going through. So be kind.

Edited to add: Well, this blew up. First, NO ONE is saying it's ok for a 400 lb rider to be on an 800 lb pony. That's ludicrous. That's cruel. We thought everyone knew that was understood. The premise of the conversation the friend and I had the other day was how different riders are perceived. Two people can weigh the same but look totally different sitting on a horse due to the way they're built.
Yes, a rider that is too heavy for a horse's size/frame can damage the horse. Again, we thought this was universally understood. But there are people online who still "fat shame" someone for riding. We have a friend who's larger, but she rides a draft cross that can more than carry her She no longer posts pics of herself because so many have been cruel and ugly.
So yes, there is a difference between advocating for the horse and fat shaming.

Edited to add: original post came from Cross Country Equine. Thanks Jessie for letting us know!

Commitment

I want to do the best for your horse or dog and bring the balance back into their life. Body work whether it be massage , wave therapy, reiki or acupuncture all means that you are stimulating parts if not the whole body into working within and healing from inside out.

I commit to you that I have done the long term study so I benefit both you and your four legged friend and I commit to you I will continue to keep improving, gaining knowledge and working hard to assist you to be your best.
