We also teach agility. This is an example of sequence jumping.
Most dogs and handlers love this sport.#barbadosdogtrainingclubagility

Trevor and Sniper having a good time.
Congratulations to Margaret and her Bouvier Des Flandres, Connie, for passing their 2nd leg of the Open (CDX) in Obedience Trials this week. They were also first and High in Trial.
Five of the seven exercises are shown in the video taken by Zoe.
Drop on Recall, Retrieve Dumb bell on Flat, Retrieve Dumb bell over High Jump, Broad Jump and Stand Stay Get your Leash.
The judge Jenni and ring steward Sarah are also in this video.
At this advanced off leash level, the handler can only touch the dog at the finish of each exercise and reward also at that time with praise. No training aids are allowed in the ring and it can come down to the dog's desire to work and remain focused with its handler.
Thanks everyone who assisted and supported the evening's trials
We have a new set of classes starting soon so please look at our recent flyer. We may have something for you or one of your friends.
You can contact our Secretary Jenni at [email protected] to register and/or further information

Sue and Yogi joined us this week for their first agility class. They did great.
Our trainer Trevor introduced them to sequence jumping and obstacles like the hoop.
Yogi who is a Belgium Malinois has the potential to be a super fast agility dog and it is important in exercisess like sequence jumping that he is obedience trained in commands such as wait so his handler can move ahead and then call and direct him.
And here they easily do the Hoop. Some first time dogs will go under or around this obstacle.
They will have a fantastic enjoyable agility time with us.

Sonia and Pippa enjoyed themselves and had lots of fun and a good run at agility this week.
With agility training, dogs recognize the names of the obstacles and the command ^over^ for sequence jumping and dogs also receive direction from their handlers body language.
It is team work and they love it.

Rhodesian Ridgeback, Bubbles, and her owner, Sarah, are practising the Utility (UD) exercise, Directional Jumping.
This exercise includes sending the dog a distance and it then turns and is commanded to sit. The handler is shown directing Bubbles to which of the 2 jumps she should take.
Good girl, Bubbles, for taking the correct jump.
Today at 4.00 pm, our Agility team is doing an agility demonstration at Agrofest and some of our Agility equipment is in the background.
At Utility (UD) level are Linda and Thorn, a German Shepherd, doing the Scent Discrimination exercise.
Thorn immediately sniffs, finds and brings Article No 6 which is the only article carrying his owner's scent from a pile of articles. Handler and dog were backing the articles when someone else included the scented article, holding it in a tong.
What a very happy dog and handler!
Bouvier Des Flandres, Connie, enjoys retrieve and jump exercises. Here she does the Retrieve over the High Jump at an Open (CDX) class yesterday.
