27 poisonous cobbles in the bedroom of Rajshahi

27 poisonous cobbler snakes found digging a floor of a bedroom in a Rajshahi house. But after all, they were beaten to death. All these snakes are small snakes and therefore, there is a big snake in the house.

রাজশাহীতে শোবার ঘরে মিলল ২৭টি বিষধর গোখরা

রাজশাহীর একটি বাড়িতে শোবার ঘরের মেঝে খুঁড়ে ২৭টি বিষধর গোখরা সাপ মিলেছে। তবে পরে সবগুলোকে পিটিয়ে মেরে ফেলা হয়। এই সবকয়টি সাপ ছোট আকারের সাপ এবং এ কারণে ধারণা করা হচ্ছে ঘরে আরও বড় সাপ থাকতে পারে।

রাজশাহীর মহানগরীর বুধপাড়ায় মঙ্গলবার রাতে এ ঘটনা ঘটেছে। ঘটনা জানাজানি হলে বুধবার সকাল থেকে আশেপাশের লোকজন ভিড় জমাচ্ছেন সাপগুলো দেখতে। তবে প্রাণীগুলো মেরে ফেলায় আফসোস করছেন কেউ কেউ।

যার ঘরে এই সাপগুলো পাওয়া গিয়েছে তার নাম মাজদার, তিনি ছোট্ট একটা চাকরি করেন। সারাদিন কাজ শেষে সন্ধ্যায় ফেরেন বাড়িতে। খাওয়া-দাওয়া শেষে স্ত্রী ঘুমিয়ে পড়েন এক ঘরে। তবে আরেক ঘরের বিছানাতেই বসে টিভি দেখছিলেন মাজদার আর তার সাত বছর বয়সী ছেলে সিয়াম। কিন্তু হঠাৎই চোখ আঁটকে গেল তার।

দেখেন, ঘরের মধ্যে সাপ! খানিকটা ভয় পেয়েও গিয়েছিলেন। বুদ্ধি হারানোর অবস্থা মাজদারের। তবে ভাগ্যিস ঘরের কোণে রাখা ছিল একটা লাঠি। লাঠি ও টর্চ লাইট হাতে নিয়ে মারতে গেলে সাপটি লুকিয়ে যায় ঘরের আলমারির পেছনে। অনেক কষ্টে সেটিকে মারলেন। কিছুক্ষণ পর দেখা গেল আরও তিনটি সাপ। তাদেরকেও মারলেন।

কিন্তু একি! একে একে বেরিয়ে আসতে থাকলে আরও সাপ! ঘরের মাটি ও দেয়াল খুঁড়ে শুরু হলো সাপ নিধনের দুঃসাহসিক অভিযান। এতে যোগ দিলেন গ্রামবাসীও। তাদের হাতে একে একে মারা পড়লো ২৭টি বিষাক্ত গোখরো সাপ।

বাড়ির মালিক মাজদার আলী জানান, রাত ১১টার দিকে তিনি ঘরে বসে টিভি দেখছিলেন। এ সময় ঘরের মধ্যেই একটি সাপ দেখতে পান তিনি। কিন্তু মারতে গেলে সেটি আলমারির আড়ালে লুকিয়ে যায়। পরে আলমারি সরিয়ে দেখতে পান আরো তিনটি সাপ বসে আছে। এরপরই মাজদার তার ভাইদের ডাকাডাকি শুরু করেন। এরপর তিনটি সাপ মারা হয়। পরে ওই ঘরের গর্ত খুঁড়ে খুঁড়ে মোট ২৭টি সাপ মারেন।

মাজদার আলী জানান, বাড়িটি মাটির তৈরি এবং অনেক পুরনো। তাই হয়তো সাপ বাসা বেঁধেছে। গরমের কারণে সাপগুলো বেরিয়ে আসতে পারে। বাড়িতে আরো সাপ আছে বলে তার ধারণা। এখন আতঙ্কে রয়েছে তার পরিবার।

মাজদার আলী জানান, সাপের দখলে চলে গেছে পৈত্রিক বাড়িটি। এ কারণে বাড়ির সবাই আতঙ্কিত। তাই তার বউ ও বাচ্চা এখন আর বাড়িতে থাকতে চাইছে না। ভয়ে ওই ঘরেও আর কেউ ঢুকছে না। কারণ, যে সাপগুলো মারা পড়েছে, সবই বাচ্চা। দৈর্ঘ্য আড়াই ফুট। মাজদারের ধারণা, বাড়িতে এখনো আরো সাপ আছে। বিশেষ সাপের বাচ্চাগুলোর বাপ-মা তো রয়েছেই। তাই অভিজ্ঞ সাপুড়ের খোঁজ করছেন তিনি।

গ্রামের সাইদুর রহমান নামে এক ব্যক্তি জানালেন, মাজদারের ওই ঘরে অসংখ্য ইঁদুরের গর্ত রয়েছে। আর সেই গর্তগুলোতে বাসা বেঁধেছিল সাপ। রাত ১১টা থেকে ভোর চারটা পর্যন্ত ঘরের মধ্যে বিভিন্ন গর্ত শাবল দিয়ে খুঁড়ে খুঁড়ে সাপগুলো মারা হয়েছে। পরে গর্তের ভেতর পানি ঢেলে দেওয়া হয়েছে। এতে আরও সাপ থাকলে বেরিয়ে আসার সম্ভাবনা আছে।

শরণখোলায় ১০ ফুট লম্বা অজগর উদ্ধার

শরণখোলার বনসংলগ্ন চালিতাবুনিয়া গ্রাম থেকে প্রায় ১০ ফুট লম্বা একটি অজগর সাপ উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। সোমবার সকালে ওই গ্রামের সেলিম হাওলাদারের মুরগির খোপ (ঘর) থেকে সাপটি উদ্ধার করা হয়। পরে দুপুর ৩টার দিকে সুন্দরবনে সাপটি অবমুক্ত করা হয়।

সোমবার সকাল ৭টার দিকে হাস-মুরগির অস্বাভাবিক চিৎকার শুনে বাড়ির লোকজন হাঁস-মুরগি খোপের দরজা খুলে অজগরটি দেখতে পান। খবর পেয়ে টাইগার টিমের ভিটিআরটি সদস্য মো. সরোয়ার হোসেন স্থানীয়দের সহায়তায় সাপটি ধরে বন বিভাগের কাছে হস্তান্তর করেন। অজগরটি একটি হাঁস, তিনটি হাঁসের বাচ্চা ও তিনটি মুরগির বাচ্চা খেয়েছে বলে গৃহকর্তা সরোয়ার হোসেন জানান।

এর আগে গত ১৯ মে পার্শ্ববর্তী খুড়িয়াখালী গ্রামের ফুলমিয়া হাওলাদারের গোয়ালঘর থেকে ১৪ ফুট লম্বা একটি অজগর উদ্ধার করে সুন্দরবনে অবমুক্ত করা হয়।

পূর্ব বন বিভাগের শরণখোলা স্টেশন কর্মকর্তা (এসও) মো. আনোয়ার হোসেন জানান, অজগরটি দুপুর ৩টার দিকে বনের ২ নম্বর কম্পার্টমেন্টের ধাবড়ী এলাকায় অবমুক্ত করা হয়েছে। -
