Uzirpur Organic Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. It was established in 2006 by a small group of farmers and farming lovers who are involved with small farming in Narail. Initially it was formed with cereal crop farmers, but gradually widening its horizon to other horticulture and apiculture farming also. It is registered with the Somobai Adhidoptor at 2007. no. 23/Nara/07. Our Goal

he goal of our organization is to eradicate poverty by supporting and linking farmers for better production and marketing of agricultural products without uncertainty in order to have better economic gain. Our main endeavor is to ensure regular and steady income of the farmers, create link with better markets, search for new market and add them to a sustainable marketing policy, job creation, income increase and as well as improve quality products and local environment. Objective of the organization
The main objective of the organization is to improve farmers’ income by increasing their agro knowledge and skills and improving their market access as well as to empower women and youth by the increasing the economic opportunities to them. Governance
Total general member of the enterprise is 117 (male 97 & female 20). The members are selected mainly from the farmers or people involved with agriculture farming in Uzirpur and Narail area within the vicinity of the project area. A Governing Body consisting 12 members is formed from the general members through election process. The composition of the General Body is President, General Secretary, Finance Secretary and 9 Executive members. The governing body is the main functionary organ of the organization and takes main decision regarding planning, expansion, monitoring and formulates and endorses policy. The tenure of the Governing Body is three years. The Governing Body is also keen about the project and involved in Policy and strategic decisions, advocacy and networking. The board provides strategic direction to the General Secretary who carries out the decision to implement projects, donor liaison, advocacy, public relation and networking in order to demonstrate the success of such implementation. The Governing Body sits regularly to provide overall guidance of the organization. Annual General meeting holds each year, where the profit distributes, annual report and financial audit is presented and discussed. Our Management team

Our Working Partners
UOMCSL has established strategic partnership with national and international organization to get help for developing and implementing different agricultural production and marketing activities. Some of the key strategic partnerships are described below. UOMCSL has been working with BRRI and the Harvest Plus for wider production and marketing of zinc rice. UOMCSL collects breeder rice from BRRI and the Harvest Plus, and apart from that, UOMCSL does not get any other assistance from any agency. The Zinc Rice is completely an own initiative of UOMCSL. We are working DAI to implement the USAID funded Agricultural Value Chains Project (AVC). The title of the project is “Facilitate improved cultivation and post-harvest management of mango and summer vegetables and supply to consumer market.” Under this support we work with 500 mango and 500 vegetable farmers. DAI supports UOMCSL in marketing strategy, particularly to develop relation with the farmers for promoting our business. With the support of Swiss contact – Katalyst, we implement a project titled "Commercial Compost Promotion and/or Improvement in Quality of Product of Compost Companies" through Enroute International Ltd. Assisting reputed compost producer to enhance production capacity by developing and capacity building of homestead compost producers through use of modern technology. With Katalyst we are working for establishing Vermi compost plant at house hold level to economic empowerment. We are getting the technical support from the organization. We work with IRRI to expand production and marketing of high-value premium quality rice varieties as well as expansion of agricultural mechanization. We implemented USAID funded and IRRI implemented Rice Value Chain (RVC) Project in Narail.
