Fakir Fashion Limited (FFL) opened its door to the apparel manufacturing business in 2009 as an independent vertically integrated knit garment industry which broke off from other Fakir Group businesses that are already in

existence. Since its inception, FFL has gone from strength to strength in becoming a leading apparel manufacturer in Bangladesh. With over 50+ tons of knitting, 55+ tons of dyeing and 200+ sewing lines, FFL has positioned itself at the forefront by utilizing innovation in the apparel manufacturing sector. Today it is adding value to the country’s economy by bringing millions of dollars in business from foreign markets and acting as a flag bearer for the “Made in Bangladesh” brand. FFL is committed in its truest form in terms of giving back to the community in the sincerest of ways that actually helps the society. Our Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) initiatives are deeply rooted and guided by the principle of doing CSR only to contribute to the society without the element of showmanship. Hence, not only are we working with other leading social enterprises such as Sajida Foundation, WaterAid, Centre for Rehabilitation of the Paralysed etc., we also play an active role in building or rebuilding community schools, colleges, religious institutions and places of worship. These initiatives within our surrounding areas are a testament to our sincere commitment to building the nation and giving back to the society. There’s more! We haven’t stopped in just rebuilding structures, our production processes are embedded and rigged with sustainable energy and production methodologies such as we utilize the process of rainwater harvesting with a catch mass of 1Lakh sq.ft., and we generate solar energy of 462.44 Kilowatt Peak (kWp) etc. Additionally, we have a fully functioning Effluent Treatment Plant that ensures our community eco-system is well balanced and saved from industrial hazard. To increase polio vaccination rates, it is crucial to address the underlying factors behind low coverage and acceptance. Until every child is vaccinated, the global mission to eradicate polio remains incomplete, leaving children worldwide at risk. Overcoming challenges such as safety concerns, illiteracy, and misconceptions about vaccines is essential. Equally important is strengthening the capacity of healthcare workers and ensuring a coordinated, sincere effort from all relevant institutions.

পোলিও একটি ভাইরাসজনিত সংক্রামক রোগ যার ফলে শরীরে, বিশেষ করে পায়ে পক্ষাঘাতের আক্রমণ ঘটে। মূলত শিশুরা এই রোগে আক্রান্ত হয়ে থাকে। তবে সঠিক বয়সে পোলিও টিকা নিশ্চিত করলে এই রোগ থেকে রেহাই পাওয়া সম্ভব। এজন্য দরকার পোলিও টিকাদানের হার বৃদ্ধি করা। কারণ যতক্ষণ পর্যন্ত একটি শিশুও পোলিও সংক্রমণে ভুগবে, সারা বিশ্বের সকল শিশুই পোলিওতে আক্রান্ত হবার ঝুঁকিতে থাকবে এবং পোলিও নির্মূলের লক্ষ্য অনিশ্চিতই থেকে যাবে।

On 14th of October 2025, Fakir Fashion Ltd. proudly showcased our integrated sustainability innovations at this year’s event of UN Global Compact Sustainability Day 2025, themed “Catalyzing Change: Bangladesh at the Crossroads of Innovation.”

From Zero BESS – the nation’s first industrial Battery Energy Storage System – to our 4.5 MW solar power plant, 300-ton v***r absorption chillers, and 90 million liters of rainwater harvested, we’re redefining what responsible manufacturing means in today’s world. Beyond technology, our commitment extends deeply into social sustainability — advancing gender equality through the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles, ensuring fair pay and equal wages, and supporting education and healthcare for our workers and surrounding communities.

Through these initiatives, we strive to create environmental impact along with socio-economic resilience and align our actions with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). দেশের প্রথম ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল ব্যাটারি এনার্জি স্টোরেজ সিস্টেম (বিইএসএস) জিরো থেকে শুরু করে আমাদের ৪.৫ মেগাওয়াট সৌর বিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্র, ৩০০-টন ভেপার অ্যাবজর্পশন চিলার এবং ৯০ মিলিয়ন লিটার বৃষ্টির পানি সংরক্ষণব্যবস্থার মতো প্রতিটি উদ্যোগের মাধ্যমে আমরা আজকের বিশ্বে দায়িত্বশীল উৎপাদনের ধারণাকে নতুন করে সংজ্ঞায়িত করছি।

Our efforts extend beyond mere compliance as we actively reduce our environmental footprint. We tackle challenges such as greenhouse gas emissions, water use, and waste management with innovative solutions, balancing efficiency and sustainability. FFL showcases its commitment to renewable energy through a 4.5 MWp solar power generation plant and an ETP plant purifying 8000 m³ of water per day. Additionally, rainwater harvesting underscores our holistic approach, capturing 19,600 cubic meters of water each year for industrial use.

এরই ধারাবাহিকতায় ফকির ফ্যাশন লিমিটেডে নবায়নযোগ্য শক্তি উৎপাদনের জন্য ৪.৫ মেগাওয়াট সৌর প্যানেলের সাথে ৮০০০ m³ পানি বিশুদ্ধ করতে পারার ক্ষমতা সম্পন্ন একটি ইটিপি প্ল্যান্ট স্থাপন করা হয়েছে। এছাড়াও কারখানায় বছরে ১৯,৬০০ কিউবিক মিটার বৃষ্টির পানি পানি সংরক্ষিত হয় যা পরবর্তীতে উৎপাদন কাজে ব্যবহার করা হয়।

At Fakir Fashion Limited, we are committed to ensuring the safety of our workers against workplace injuries by maintaining rigorous occupational health and safety standards.

Our medical team provides first aid and primary care in emergencies, while more adverse emergencies are managed through treatment contracts with nearby hospitals. We also conduct first aid training sessions, led by our in-house doctors, to educate employees on the use of first aid equipment available on every floor, the nature of various injuries, and their appropriate treatment requirements.

These initiatives help our workers remain alert, prepared, and steady, enabling them to provide immediate care to stabilise an injured person until emergency medical services arrive, thereby minimising the potential aftereffects of accidents in both office and factory settings.

Fakir Fashion Ltd. has become a signatory to the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), underscoring its commitment to gender equality and inclusive growth. The WEPs, established by UN Women and the UN Global Compact, provide a framework for advancing women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace, and community.

“Our pledge to WEPs reflects our belief that equality drives innovation and resilience,” said Fakir Kamruzzaman Nahid, Managing Director. Fakir Fashion continues to lead in ethical, sustainable, and inclusive textile manufacturing.

The WEPs framework targets three critical areas: the workplace (fair pay, leadership opportunities, health and safety), the marketplace (inclusive supply chains, responsible marketing), and the community (advocacy, partnerships, social impact).FFL's Commitment signifies our solidarity with UN's vision and a crucial move of the wider industry towards recognizing and safeguarding the rights of women along with their rights to advancement.

লিঙ্গসমতা ও অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক অগ্রগতির অঙ্গীকারে অটল থেকে, ফকির ফ্যাশন লিমিটেড জাতিসংঘের নারী ক্ষমতায়ন নীতিমালা (WEPs)-এর অধীনে একটি চুক্তিস্বাক্ষর করেছে। ইউএন উইমেন ও ইউএন গ্লোবাল কমপ্যাক্টের যৌথ উদ্যোগে গঠিত এই নীতিমালা কর্মক্ষেত্র, বর্তমান বাজার পরিস্থিতি ও সমাজের প্রতিটি স্তরে নারী ক্ষমতায়নের দিকনির্দেশনা দেয়।

জাতিসংঘের নারী ক্ষমতায়ন নীতিমালা (WEPs) মূলত তিনটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ক্ষেত্রে কাজ করেছে। যার মধ্যে রয়েছে কর্মক্ষেত্রে ন্যায্য মজুরি এবং নেতৃত্বের সুযোগ, স্বাস্থ্য ও সুরক্ষা, বাজারে অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক সাপ্লাই চেইন ও দায়িত্বশীল বিপণন, এবং সমাজে সচেতনতা, অংশীদারিত্ব ও সামাজিক প্রভাব।

এই চুক্তি জাতিসংঘের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গির সাথে আমাদের সংহতির প্রতীক। একইসাথে এটি শিল্পখাতে নারীর অধিকার ও তাদের অগ্রযাত্রার সুরক্ষা নিশ্চিত করার পথে এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদক্ষেপ।
