existence. Since its inception, FFL has gone from strength to strength in becoming a leading apparel manufacturer in Bangladesh. With over 50+ tons of knitting, 55+ tons of dyeing and 200+ sewing lines, FFL has positioned itself at the forefront by utilizing innovation in the apparel manufacturing sector. Today it is adding value to the country’s economy by bringing millions of dollars in business from foreign markets and acting as a flag bearer for the “Made in Bangladesh” brand. FFL is committed in its truest form in terms of giving back to the community in the sincerest of ways that actually helps the society. Our Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) initiatives are deeply rooted and guided by the principle of doing CSR only to contribute to the society without the element of showmanship. Hence, not only are we working with other leading social enterprises such as Sajida Foundation, WaterAid, Centre for Rehabilitation of the Paralysed etc., we also play an active role in building or rebuilding community schools, colleges, religious institutions and places of worship. Every day, thousands of plastic bottles, polythene bags, plastic boxes, fish boxes, vehicle tires, nets, ropes, and other plastic waste, garbage thrown from boats, oil tankers, and other vessels, as well as non-biodegradable substances and chemicals, continuously pollute nature's pure creation, the sea. This causes damage to marine aquatic flora and fauna. Fish production in the sea is decreasing, and fish reproduction is declining. Biodiversity is being destroyed.

Earth and human life have a close relationship with the sea. The ocean is equivalent to the blood flow of the earth. If the bloodstream is polluted, just as humans cannot survive, so the earth cannot survive if the ocean is polluted.

Meeting growing production demands, Fakir Fashion LTD takes a crucial step in ensuring our impact is positive for the planet. By prioritizing water-saving initiatives and the full implementation of the 4R strategy: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Restore, we're striving for a healthier nature and a greener tomorrow.

FFL prioritises providing safe and affordable food. Our spacious dining hall accommodates 2000 workers, allowing them to have their meals simultaneously. Additionally, our canteen, surrounded by air cooling fans, offers a variety of food and snacks at very reasonable prices and is open from morning till afternoon. FFL’s fair price shop- SWAJON supports 18000 employees with subsidised foodstuffs, ensuring their essential needs are met.

Hon. Managing Director of FFL was recently invited as a discussant at an event hosted by the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss Bangladesh’s graduation from LDC (Least Developed Country) status. Bangladesh is set to lose significant trade benefits through this graduation, but it also exposes the country to opportunities for diversifying its exports and venturing into new markets.

Hon. Managing Director Fakir Kamruzzaman Nahid was invited to this event to share his views—as the Vice Chairman of BKMEA and one of the spokespersons for the knit garments industry—on the challenges facing the industry due to this transition, as well as to participate in policy-level discussions on potential strategies moving forward, as Bangladesh transitions to a middle-income country.

The event titled "Export-Import Policies in Bangladesh: Requirements and Challenges Upon LDC Graduation." Invited important voices from various industries such as the Knitwear, pharmaceuticals and IT along with key spokespersons from different regulatory bodies such as Bangladesh Trade and Tariffs Commission, EPB, NBR and Ministry of Finance. In his address, he mentioned that moving forward, Bangladesh would need to target diversification of its products, production of higher value goods, with increased focus on compliance with international markets and sustainability, to ensure its competitive advantage in the manufacturing arena.

He also emphasized the importance of increasing the production of man-made fibers, as there is rising demand for such goods in the market. These man-made fibers can be manufactured locally through facilities that produce recycled yarns and different varieties of synthetic fibers—thereby decreasing our dependency on imports and gaining a competitive edge.

It was also established in the discussion with other panelists that favorable policies must be formulated, and that DCCI should take an active advocacy role in safeguarding both the industry’s and the country’s interests during this critical transition. The chair group noted that it will move forward in the coming months by hosting further discussions with industry leaders in hopes of formulating proactive and beneficial strategies related to import-export regulations, FDIs, FTAs, Intellectual property rights/regulations and bilateral trade agreements—encouraging industries to innovate, diversify, grow, and explore new markets and opportunities in the evolving global economy.

মাননীয় ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক ফকির কামরুজ্জামান নাহিদ, যিনি বর্তমানে বিকেএমইএ-এর ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান এবং নিট পোশাক শিল্পের একজন মুখপাত্র হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করছেন, এ আলোচনায় শিল্প খাতের চ্যালেঞ্জ এবং সম্ভাব্য কৌশল নিয়ে মতামত প্রদান করেন। "বাংলাদেশের রপ্তানি-আমদানি নীতিমালা: এলডিসি উত্তরণ পরবর্তী চাহিদা ও চ্যালেঞ্জ" শীর্ষক এই আলোচনায় নিটওয়্যার, ওষুধ, আইটি খাতের প্রতিনিধিসহ বাংলাদেশ ট্রেড অ্যান্ড ট্যারিফ কমিশন, রপ্তানি উন্নয়ন ব্যুরো (EPB), জাতীয় রাজস্ব বোর্ড (NBR) এবং অর্থ মন্ত্রণালয়ের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ প্রতিনিধি ও নীতিনির্ধারকগণ অংশ নেন।

তিনি তার বক্তব্যে বলেন, বাংলাদেশকে এগিয়ে যেতে হলে উচ্চ মূল্য সংযোজিত পণ্য উৎপাদনে মনোযোগ দিতে হবে, পাশাপাশি আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারের উপযোগী থেকে টেকসই উৎপাদন নিশ্চিত করতে হবে যাতে বৈশ্বিক প্রতিযোগিতায় আমাদের অবস্থান আরও শক্তিশালী হয়। বিশেষ করে, বিশ্ববাজারে ক্রমবর্ধমান চাহিদা বিবেচনায় ম্যান-মেইড ফাইবার বা কৃত্রিম সুতার উৎপাদন বৃদ্ধির ওপর তিনি গুরুত্বারোপ করেন। এ ধরণের ফাইবার প্লাস্টিক বর্য পুন ব্যবহারের মাধ্যমে স্থানীও ভাবে উৎপাদন করা সম্ভব, যা আমদানির উপর নির্ভরতা কমিয়ে আমাদের প্রতিযোগিতামূলক অবস্থান মজবুত করবে।

আলোচনায় অন্যান্য প্যানেল সদস্যদের সঙ্গে মতবিনিময়ের মাধ্যমে এ বিষয়েও সম্মতি প্রকাশ করা হয় যে, একটি অনুকূল নীতিনির্ধারণী কাঠামো তৈরি করা জরুরি এবং এই পরিবর্তনকালীন সময়ে শিল্প ও দেশের স্বার্থ রক্ষায় DCCI-কে আরও সক্রিয় ভূমিকা নিতে হবে। আলোচনার সভাপতি দল ঘোষণা করে যে, আগামী মাসগুলোতে শিল্প নেতৃবৃন্দের সঙ্গে ধারাবাহিক আলোচনা পরিচালনা করা হবে, যার লক্ষ্য হবে আমদানি-রপ্তানি নীতিমালা, প্রত্যক্ষ বৈদেশিক বিনিয়োগ (FDI), মুক্ত বাণিজ্য চুক্তি (FTA), মেধাস্বত্ব সংরক্ষণ আইন এবং দ্বিপাক্ষিক বাণিজ্য সম্পর্কিত কৌশল নির্ধারণ—যাতে দেশীয় শিল্পগুলো নতুন বাজার ও সম্ভাবনার সন্ধানে আরও উদ্ভাবনী, বৈচিত্র্যময় ও প্রতিযোগিতামূলক হয়ে উঠতে পারে।

A Financial Aid Giving Ceremony was held at the premises of Fakir Fashion Limited to support workers facing various emergency situations.

A total of BDT 3,00,000 was distributed among 39 recipients from the FFL Welfare Fund.
Among them, Junior Operator Ripon from the Colour Lab department was diagnosed with a brain inflammation-related illness. A special assistance of BDT 35,000 was provided for his treatment. In his absence, the amount was disbursed to his family member.

The financial support was extended to address various urgent personal situations, including serious illness of workers or their close family members, such as parents, spouses, siblings, and children; as well as in the aftermath of disasters such as house fires.

প্রতিষ্ঠানের কল্যাণ তহবিল থেকে মোট ৩,০০,০০০ টাকা ৩৯ জন প্রাপককে প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

কালার ল্যাব বিভাগের জুনিয়র অপারেটর রিপন, মস্তিষ্কের প্রদাহজনিত অসুস্থতায় ভুগছেন। তাঁর চিকিৎসার জন্য কল্যাণ তহবিল থেকে ৩৫,০০০ টাকা সহায়তা প্রদান করা হয়েছে, যা তার অনুপস্থিতিতে আত্মীয়ের কাছে হস্তান্তর করা হয়।

এই সহায়তা প্রদান করা হয়েছে বিভিন্ন জরুরি পরিস্থিতির প্রেক্ষিতে, যেমন: নিজের বা পরিবারের সদস্যদের অসুস্থতা (মা, বাবা, ভাই, বোন, স্বামী, স্ত্রী, সন্তান), স্ত্রীর প্রসবজনিত জটিলতা এবং আগুনে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত ঘর পুনর্গঠনের জন্য।

ফকির ফ্যাশন লিমিটেড কর্মীদের দুঃসময়ে পাশে থাকতে পেরে আনন্দিত এবং প্রত্যেক প্রাপকের দ্রুত সুস্থতা ও মঙ্গল কামনা করে।

We are proud to share that the Honorable Managing Director of Fakir Fashion Limited, Mr. Fakir Kamruzzaman Nahid, has recently been elected as the Vice President (Elect) of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA).

This appointment follows his successful election as Director through the recently held BKMEA election, where a united panel of industry leaders, the Progressive Knit Alliance, was also formed. This alliance aims to build a collective and empowered voice for the knitwear sector, addressing critical industry issues and driving collaborative progress.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Mr. Nahid for this remarkable achievement. We believe his leadership, experience, and undying dedication will greatly contribute to safeguarding the interests of the industry, strengthening its global competitiveness, and shaping a more sustainable and resilient future for Bangladesh’s knitwear sector.
