1 1 2 3 is Fibonacci Day!

🌿 The beauty of the Fibonacci sequence is timeless and has a profound connection to the Golden Ratio, a mathematical constant that shapes our world. From art and architecture to nature’s design, this ratio represents balance and harmony. 🌌

🦎 Take a look at this chameleon's tail, forming a perfect Fibonacci spiral, echoing the elegance of the Golden Ratio. These patterns aren’t just numbers; they’re a reminder of the intricate order woven into the fabric of life.

🏆 Today is Guinness World Records Day! 🏆

➡️ Some of the smallest reptiles in the world are the males of several dwarf chameleon species belonging to the genus Brookesia. These chameleons are small enough to fit on a fingertip when fully grown. The smallest reptile species identified to date is Brookesia nana, discovered in 2021.

💡 Before the discovery of B. nana, the title of the smallest known Brookesia chameleons was shared by three species: Brookesia minima, Brookesia micra, and the Mount d'Ambre leaf chameleon (Brookesia tuberculata), which is shown in this picture.

Meet the fascinating Chlamydosaurus kingii, commonly known as the frilled-neck lizard! This stunning creature can be found in northern Australia and southern New Guinea. 🌏

👑 As the sole representative of its genus, the frilled-neck lizard captivates with a striking feature: a large frill that elegantly folds down against its body when not in use.

🧗 The animal is a skilled climber, primarily living in trees, where it hunts insects and small vertebrates. It typically measures about 85 cm or 33,5" in length, making it a relatively large lizard.

💡 💡 The White’s Tree Frogs' lipid glands produce skin secretions that they wipe all over their bodies to increase the resistance against evaporative water loss. This waterproofing mechanism helps them maintain their moisture level during daytime, when temperatures increase due to solar rays hitting their hiding spot, or while the frogs are basking.

💡🌀 Chameleons, and many other arboreal reptiles, generally do not recognize motionless bodies of water as a drinking source.

🌁 In their natural habitat, chameleons primarily hydrate by inhaling fog at night and drinking dew droplets that form on the leaves in the morning, as well as raindrops that remain on the leaves after a brief rainfall. They recognize these water sources as suitable for drinking, especially if the droplets roll over a leaf or glisten in the terrarium's light.

💦 🌫️ Spraying or misting the terrarium plants in the morning (before the lights are switched on) and in the evening (after the lights have been switched off) will provide water droplets for your Chameleon to drink.

➡️ To simplify this task Exo Terra® developed the Monsoon, a Programmable Misting System, and the Dripper Plant, which continuously provides water drops.
