ALL NOW NAMED
DOLLY, BONNIE, POLLYANNA, CILLA AND MISS GRINGLES
BARNIE, FINDLAY, TEDDY AND BOBBY

LONG POST SORRY
They have arrived❤
So just a handful of people knew we had agreed to help a lovely elderly couple with a litter of 9 yes 9 street puppies.
These pups were born in bushes on the side of the road, this couple did all they could to feed mum and keep them safe while still little living on the street.
Last week these pups decided to venture out more and kept dancing on the road ,although not mega busy, enough for them to be in danger and also children thinking they might be footballs.
So they took them in for safety till I could get to then this week, I am sure they wont mind me saying the husband is 75 and not 100% and his wife poorly, so quite a task looking after these and an amazing job you have both done.

The mummy will be neutered and possibly has a home offer she is a lovely natured dog, but very cautious of new people, and will be continued to have food and water left for her daily.

So these pups 5 girls , 4 boys , some smooth coat some wavy coat, and some chunky monkeys.
They will be slight frame and cocker to small lab size.
Currently 5/6 weeks a rough guess on how small they are .
They will all be up for adoption in Bulgaria and UK, and I am sure my rescue friends in the uk will also help in homing.

All we need now are names so for £10 or 20lv if you would like to name a puppy please message , there are 4 of each as I have named the smallest girl who is a sweetie "miss Gringles" this name has meaning to me, so had to be❤

Paypal [email protected]
Or we have an english bank account please message.

Its been a busy month, and we thankful to everyone who has homed kittens this month and of course Myrtle❤

Thank you everyone for you help and support x

UPDATE MYRTLE NOW HAS A HOME OFFER HERE IN BULGARIA❤

With the weather that has been around 36/38 degrees this week ,yesterday afternoon we went to collect this little girl who had been rescued whilst stuck in an abandoned garden with no way out, they managed to lift part of the chain link fence at the bottom and gave her water.
Simon has named her Myrtle (moaning myrtle) apparently she doesnt like being left , we think she is about 4/5 weeks old she is very small.
We start her vaccinations and she will up for adoption here in Bulgaria or can travel to the uk when fully vaccinated and has passport.
Myrtle will not be a big dog, and is very loving.
Please if you are interested contact us for more details.

Thank you to everyone who attended Hotnitsa Car Boot/селски пазар today, in the heat, I think we can all agree we were cooking!!

Many will have seen these 2 little puppies desperately needing a home whilst walking around, the ladies had already managed to rehome 3 pups via posts on Facebook and these 2 remained, we left it until it was time to come home to see if there had been any home offers during the day but sadly not, they had been content during the day in the shade and had water.

These are the sweetest pups and we brought them both home with us, I must say though that theres nothing like sitting in the car with a pup at your feet and one on your lap and feel a warm trickle running down your leg all over your feet, so you have take your shoes off😂

We have named them Cyril and Alfie they are 7/8 weeks old and will be up for adoption in the future. We have changed their given names slightly, Cyril was Cyril but Alfie was Methodius, which didn't roll off the tongue. But as their names were taken from the official day in Bulgaria that celebrates enlightenment, culture and the creation of the Slavonic alphabet by the two brothers Saint Cyril and Saint Methodius, so Alfie is short for Alphabet🙂 This official holiday, was the day, that all 5 pups were found, having been dumped.

Thank you to anyone who brought from the stall and the people who have donations for the Auction day on 6th July ,I was a bit worried re donations, but we now have some lovely items, I will post a list in a couple of weeks of all items you can bid on.

So thank you everyone ❤

Here is an update on events at Paws, sorry it has been a while.

The lovely Elsie has been and had 3 cancerous lumps removed and is doing well, in fact she's back to her normal self, enjoying having a good strut round and being bossy, as she had become very lethargic and keeping herself to herself, we're really pleased to she has recovered well, thank you to Krasimir, our vet for taking care of her and doing such a good job.

We have also recently helped a lady neuter 2 cats in need, this was through the support of the carboots at Hotnitsa Car Boot/селски пазар, which is always well supported and lets us raise funds for the ongoing long term care of the 23 dogs that are still with us (excluding our own hounds) so thank you everyone who comes and pays us a visit when we attend, it all helps.

Finally we have rehomed another 10 dogs in the UK and one is in foster, thank you Raine and Ruth for your continued support in the UK.

Thank you everyone for your support
Jules

I don't like doing sad posts, in fact I generally try and avoid doing them if I can help it. But to say that this morning both Jules and I are heartbroken is an understatement.

After coming back from my bi weekly dog food run, I found Ronnie had passed away😭

He was in the same spot he'd been when I left, he always managed to snag a good spot that got the sun till late. He'd been perfectly fine, apart from I'd run out of dog food so breakfast was going to be delayed, which makes him grumpy, as that was always his favourite part of the day!

Ronnie or Ronald as I called him when he was naughty, was a long term resident with us, he arrived around June/July 2019, severely malnourished to the point that the vet said he wouldn't make it😭

Ronnie could have had a different home and in my eyes, a better life, I actually took him and a few others myself to the UK, but he wouldn't settle there, so came back within the month. We think he just missed me and to be honest though he could be an ars*, I missed him as well.

He continued to have his issues surrounding food, I watched every training video I could find and nothing worked with him, so every morning at breakfast time, he ran to a crate to wait for his brekkie as good as gold. But not this morning, young Ronald has deserted me😢

After he arrived and he started to build himself up again physically, he used to love walking with me across the fields surrounding the house, we're never completely sure what sort of previous life any of the dogs have had when they arrive, his was obviously quite bad just going on his condition, but he really loved his walks when he could get them and he was such a loving boy.

So breakfast this morning has been a sombre affair for me, the others don't seem to be any different, but that's hounds for you 🤷

We think Ronnie was around 8 years old, so given how he was treated, I like to think that the last, nearly 4 years he had been here had been better for him but we will both miss him dreadfully 😢

A quick update on recent events😂.

The puppies are all doing so well, little Milly in the picture having teatime cuddles by the fire, we will do a video shortly so you can see how they have grown.

Over the last couple of weeks we have 2 newbies arrive ,one one week and the other the next.

First was Betty, some may have seen here in the post when we were kindly donated some food.

Betty was rescued from a village, on the day I went shopping with a friend, Simon said "thought you were getting a prawn ring from Lidl, not another wonky hunting dog".

Betty we think is possibly 7/8years old, she walks with a stoop back and not very good on her legs, originally maybe used for hunting then possibly just for breeding before being discarded😡. So Betty will have a lovely Christmas with us and see her life out here with the others.

The following week we went and collected Georgie, a wirehaired dachshund, we were asked to help when his owner sadly passed away earlier in the year.

He is a lovely little boy, but loved the ladies (all ours are neutered) to the point of being in a frenzy, so within 2 hours of him being here he was at the vets and neutered, thank you Krasi for quick assistance☺

So an eventful couple of weeks and the next couple of days will be finishing the veg for the dogs christmas dinner. Xx

Pup date❤
All the puppies are doing well and have been moved into the kitchen and have a bit cordoned off, due to the colder weather at night.

They have been wormed and flea treated.

Now on dried and wet puppy food ☺.
Those with big personalities are Chloe and Jack, Isla is the climber and escapee😂.
Douglas in the second pic feels he runs the show, but is soon put in his place by Katie😂😂😂.

Mummy dog is recovering well after her op and has been offered a permanent home by the lady caring for her, so a positive end for their mum❤

Thank you everyone who named and sent a donation to help these cuties.

Many times we have been asked, 'do you take puppies as they are easier to rehome', honestly puppies are the hardest, as they are with us for longer and require way more time, its about who needs the help when we can. 😞

To everyone that has asked me to help in the last week and I have had to say "sorry we have one kennel left , reserved for a poorly mummy and pups" here are our 6 new editions, so puppies again this christmas 😂.
These 6 tiny little bundles are no more than 5 weeks old, rescued from a diused house, the mummy was clipped by a car on a village road where cars fly up and down.
The mummy has been unable to walk on her back leg and disappeared for a few days, but has since been looked after till her pups could be located and safe.
Simon collected the pups yesterday and the lady feeding and helping her got her to the vets where she went to be neutered and leg looked at, but on investigating she had cancer of the uterus so this was removed and is now recovering and once better ,her leg will be next . She has to rest so will be with us once a bit better.
Thank you to the lady who covered her vet bill .
So 6 bundles of cuteness all looking for names, I will do a post on how many boys and how many girls and if anyone would like to name one for £10 (this will cover their first vaccine ) please message me xx

Carrots today, butternut squash next week, potatoes will be cooked day before and those that like the sprouts.
The chicken and heart are already in the freezer and just need cooking, the stock will make the gravy.

Morning everyone

Just an update with some 'stats' from Saturdays fantastic auction day, my voice is almost back to normal now as well.

I was blown away by how many people took the trouble to come over to support this Team Paws event, on what ended up being a bit of a dismal weather day.

But anyway, the auction itself raised....1,368 lev which is a fantastic amount under any circumstances but including the raffle and other donations on the day, it came to a grand total of 1,861 lev!

Thank you all so much, we're going into winter with more dogs here than we'd like, again, so this will certainly help a lot. We're also treating one that came to us when we were parked up earlier last week, while waiting to meet someone. She has a really bad case of mange on her chest and rear underneath back end, but hopefully it will clear up quickly. I'll post some pictures of her soon, but we called her Lolly, and she's a sweet little thing, very afraid of men, but that sadly, isn't unusual though she is warming to Simon a bit now.

The other pups in the attached picture are Barry, who found us at the Ivancha bakery one day a few months back, he's going for an xray soon on his back leg, the tablets haven't helped improve it, so we will see if they show anything else. The other two are our own resident wiener pups, Walter and Winifred (Wally and Winnie)

Thank you all once again for your continued support, its truly brilliant.

Jules

Our Story

Team Paws Bulgaria is a fully registered Bulgarian “Not for Profit Foundation”. We are not a rescue, however we do have a small team of dedicated foster carers who can step in and help with a few cases of abandoned dogs, in certain areas of Polski Trambesh & Byala regions.

We home foster and do our very best to re-home, both within Bulgaria and further afield across Europe. Whenever we can, we assist Bulgarian villagers to neuter their dogs and catch street dogs, also to neuter.

Our fundraising comes from events held at our Head Quarters, located in Peychinovo, where we have a small cafe, an arts and crafts gallery and a second hand shop. We also raise funds from sponsors, car boot sales and our wonderful followers donations.

We always need people who can give some time to help out, so please come and say hello and meet the team.
