​We are thrilled to share the progress of one of our senior patients (20+ years old) struggling with PPID (Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction), commonly known as Equine Cushing’s Disease.
🔸​The Challenge
​As horses age, the "control switch" in their brain (the hypothalamus) can weaken, leading to an overactive pituitary gland. Our patient was showing classic clinical signs:
🔸​Hirsutism: A thick, curly coat that refused to shed.
🔸​Muscle Wasting: Loss of topline and muscle tone.
🔸​Lethargy: A noticeable drop in energy and spirit.
🔸​The Integrative Protocol
​To manage this complex hormonal imbalance, we implemented a dual-action Integrated Therapy:
