Mustang Feet

It has been a process.
Unexpected challenges and time out’s from training. From the moment the wild mare arrived - let’s just say, her feet were priority and still are. She could not walk properly without stepping on them, tripping. There were surprises, but all of that, and, what the difference might be between domesticated and wild horse’s feet, we will show in our documentary about Bulgaria’s first authentic American Mustang.

Silk’s feet are being lovingly and precisely taken care off by the innovative and hard working master farrier Veso Fotev Aik.

Introducing the human world to a Mustang: The plastic bag. After working previously with a rustling tarp, stepping on it, having it on her body, walking wrapped with it, she still found the little plastic bag a little alien on day 1. 👽 Day 2 - no problem. 🙂 She is smart. Observing at all times, alert, yet open, curious, yet accepting, brave and confident - but humble, …. learning quickly. I wish humans were more like her. 🙂

Desensitizing and preparing the Mustang for her first ever shoeing tomorrow was a priority. Because we like our super-farrier Veso Fotev Aik and want him to work comfortably on all of her feet, so he can go home with all of his teeth. 🤭🤠

Но кой ще бъде конят? 🐴 Лъчко се е родил в Конна База Войнеговци на 27-ми април преди пет години. Първата година на кончето минало сред много хора, гушкане и като цяло социализация. Но когато започнал да расте и влезе в големия табун с конете, характерът му се проявил и Лъчо се превърнал в див тинейджър - свободолюбив, подозрителен и непокорен! Дарина, майката на Лъчко е каракачанска кобила, една от най-примитивните български породи коне, а баща му е неизвестен. Каракачанският кон е една от малкото автохтонни породи животни в България. Автохтонен означава местен, първичен. Самите хора - каракачани, са били номади, препитаващи се с отглеждането на овце, добив на месо, вълна и кожи.
