Our Story
it all started out with my in born love for all cats. i had my first at 10 yeas old- my first persian at 17. when i came to nassau in 92 , there were only a hand full of persian cats -brought into the country from abroad. my vet Dr Basil Sands of Central Animal Clinic suggested , that i become a breeder-noticing how passionate i was with my one cat. i decided to give it a go- i registered with the CFA -cat fancy association and adopted a breeding pair. i educated myself about cats and persian cats, their care and their breeding. dr Sands became my mentor and friend- helping me to deliver my first litter of adorable persian kittens in 1994.--- first and foremost- my cats are my children-irregardless of their age, or if they are active breeders or retired.i love them for themselves. Breeding these adorable , sweet tempered kittens is not a job or a business to me------ its a passion and a joy!!!
i am not a kitty mill and only breed occasionally, when i see , that there is demand and good homes waiting. my kittens are never sold-but i choose to call it adoption fee-since you can not buy a cherished family member-and that is what i want my kittens to be - A FAMILY MEMBER!! by now i have hand birthed and raised about 60 litters in the last 25 years-always staying in contact with most of my adopters. Since i love to keep my own cats clean and well groomed,i leaned to do this myself with the help of my husband. when you wash and shave 14 + cats every month -you get better as time goes by. Experience makes the best teacher!!! we became better by the month and finally decided to offer this well needed service to other cat owners, that is my true calling. i love to make cats feel pampered, clean and look after their well-being. this special long hair breed needs very regular grooming, preventing any mats or tangles, i clip toe nails, clean ears and give a variety of hair cuts. we love to cater to our feline clients, treating them like our own-and indeed , most are cats, who were born of IRIECATS cattery. Our loving all- around care for out feline clients has made IRIECATS a house hold name among cat lovers. it is here , where cat enthusiasts find the best of care in grooming and cageless boarding and a huge variety in toys for their beloved couch tiger and velvet paws. Come and visit us and meet our 15 loving persians, check out the toys or make an appointment for your next groom or board. i also offer advice in cat care, cat health, and am always willing to help a cat parent in need! A trip to CATMANOR is always fun and educationally as well. we welcome anyone who loves cats or would like to know more about them. meow
