FOR 4 FUN-FILLED DAYS, you get to participate in a number of fun and interactive activities throughout our facility and with our lesson ponies! Open to ages 5-15.

On behalf of Camperdown Equestrian Centre (CEC), we invite you to come out and show support for our participating CEC equestrians at the upcoming CEA Dressage Challenge.

📍DRESSAGE CHALLENGE
Date: Saturday, December 7, 2024
Time: 9am - 3pm*
Venue: Mariposa Stables (western New Providence)
*End time is tentative and subject to adjustment.

📍PRIVATE DRESSAGE CLINIC
Date: Sunday, December 8, 2024
Time: TBC with the respective rider.
Venue: Mariposa Stables (western New Providence)

CEC RIDERS, your trainer Miss Kim will inform you directly whether you are eligible to participate. 🚨 NOTE: Riders currently in the Walk/Trot Show Classes are ineligible.

ℹ️ WHAT IS THE CEA?

The Caribbean Equestrian Association (CEA) is an organization that promotes equestrian activity in the Caribbean. The CEA’s goals include 1️⃣ Training equestrian officials; 2️⃣ Facilitating equestrian events between Caribbean countries; and 3️⃣ Educating athletes, coaches, and officials.

The CEA hosts two main competitions:
1️⃣ CEA Caribbean Dressage Challenge: A regional dressage competition
2️⃣ CEA Regional Jumping Challenge: A regional jumping competition

YOU’RE INVITED to our Fall Horse Show!

SATURDAY, Nov 9 @ 9am-3pm and SUNDAY, Nov 10 @ 9am-12pm at Camperdown Equestrian Centre, Wild Tamarind Drive. ATTENDANCE IS FREE!

📍CEC’s Horse Shows are one of the major ways in which we raise funds for the barn. 100% of ALL proceeds from the sales at our concession stand goes toward ongoing facilities maintenance and general horse care.

📍CEC is a not-for-profit riding facility that offers lessons and boarding facilities. For more than 50-years it has been CEC’s mission to keep the cost of lessons to a minimum in order to make equestrian sport more accessible to the wider community, allowing more children to participate and be exposed to the world of horses and equestrian sport. This is why fundraising is SO vital for us!

📍For those wishing to make monetary donations, please feel free to contact our volunteer committee – parents and friends of our small riding community who give of their time and talents to ensure this program stays alive AND THRIVES for many more years to come!

It was a weekend of camaraderie and teamwork as riders participated in their first Horse Show of the season, which included the Bahamas Interscholastic Equestrian League (BIEL) competition.

Team Riders: Maria, Connor, Marlo, Kelsey, Madison, Kennedy

🤍 CEC Sand Dollars placed 4th
Team Riders: Hannah, Arielle, Isla, Alana, Ava, Meadow

What’s BIEL?
Founded in 2017, the BIEL have staged competitions that have been a perennial favorite among junior riders because of the team emphasis and the unique format, based on collegiate competition rules, in which riders and horses are matched by random draw.

As a not-for-profit organization whose primary aim is to make equestrian sport accessible to as many children in The Bahamas as possible, we rely largely on fundraising activities and the generous contributions made by the wider community to stay afloat. 100% of all proceeds raised through activities goes directly towards facilities maintenance and horse welfare (for our lesson horses). Any donation, however large or small goes a very long way!

We are often asked what our more immediate needs are. While the list is long, assistance with the purchase of equipment and supplies is always a HUGE help. In that vein, we’ve created an Amazon Gift Registry.

There’s A LOT that goes in to making CEC operate successfully day-to-day! Behind the scenes, there’s a small but mighty team comprising our barn manager and trainer Miss Kim, and stable hands Mr Frankie, Mr Sidley and Mr Janell. Taking care of a barn full of horses is no small feat… it’s ensuring their overall quality of life, which includes maintaining their stalls and ensuring a clean environment, feeding and watering them throughout the day, turning them out to graze and stretch their legs, and exercising them (whether in a lesson program or on a lunge line). Featured here is Mr Janell making dinner rounds!
