Shampooch

Shampooch Established in 1988, Shampooch has been grooming dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes and temperaments. Please call us for pricing and directions to Shampooch.

Permanently closed.

Owned and run by Marlene Henning, Shampooch employs skilled pet groomers who share a combined knowledge of 19 years' experience. The parlour was originally started by Lizelle Smith in 1988 who owned it until 2012 when she moved to the UK. She still visits the parlour each year and keeps the groomers on their toes. Cats are also catered for at Shampooch and even though the myth suggests cats do not tolerate water, they seem to do just fine in the hands of the capable team at Shampooch.

🐾 Important Announcement from Shampooch 🐾

Dear Shampooch Family,

At Shampooch, the safety and well-being of every furry friend entrusted to our care is our top priority. We strive to provide a stress-free and enjoyable grooming experience for all dogs who visit our parlour.

After careful consideration and with the best interests of both the dogs and our groomers in mind, we want to inform you that we will no longer be able to accept dogs that exhibit aggressive behaviour towards other dogs or people.

We believe that every dog deserves a positive grooming experience, and when aggression is present, it can cause unnecessary stress and discomfort for both the dog and our groomers. Therefore, if a dog needs to be muzzled during grooming, we regret that we will not be able to accommodate them.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of all our furry clients. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Thank you for entrusting us with the care of your beloved pets.

Warm regards,
Shampooch Grooming Parlour πŸΆπŸ’•

We found the two white Alsatians with their collars on together out near the Tlokweng Border Post on Monday. They were friendly, but were very hungry and thirsty. We called BSPCA Gaborone and they came within 30mins. The female has had pups recently.

Hey there, fellow pet parents of Gaborone! 🌴🐾

As the summer sun cranks up the heat in our beautiful Botswana, it's crucial to remember that our furry companions are feeling it too! 🌞 That's why regular grooming isn't just a luxury – it's a necessity for your pet's health and happiness. And oh, the difference it can make, especially in this dry and scorching climate!

🌊 Hydration Heroes: Grooming isn't only about looking fabulous; it's about keeping your furry friends cool and comfortable. Our pets can struggle with the heat, and their coats play a big role in regulating their body temperature. Regular brushing helps remove excess fur and prevents matting, allowing air to circulate through their coat. Plus, a well-trimmed coat can protect them from overheating, sunburn, and even skin irritations.

🚿 Cleanliness = Wellness: With all that dust and dryness hanging around in Gaborone's summer air, our pets can end up with more dirt than they bargained for! Regular baths help keep their skin clean and free from allergens, which can reduce itching and scratching. Don't forget their paws – they can collect a lot of debris during walks. A clean pup is a happy pup, after all!

🌸 Shiny Fur, Happy Heart: Picture this – a gleaming coat reflecting the Botswana sun, a content pet beaming with joy. Regular grooming stimulates blood circulation and distributes natural oils, promoting healthy and shiny fur. Trust us, your pet will strut their stuff with an extra pep in their step!

🐾 Bonding Time: Grooming isn't just about the physical benefits. It's quality bonding time for you and your pet. Those moments spent brushing, bathing, and caring for them strengthen the bond you share. It's a win-win – a well-groomed pet and a heartwarming connection.

So, dear Gaborone pet parents, let's make this summer a season of pet pampering! Schedule those grooming sessions and let your furry friends beat the heat in style. Your pets will thank you with wagging tails, wet kisses, and endless love. πŸ•πŸ±β€οΈ

Stay cool, stay caring, and keep those pets well-groomed! πŸΎβœ‚οΈ

Dog grooming is an important aspect of responsible pet ownership. Not only does it help to keep your dog looking and feeling their best, but it also plays a crucial role in maintaining their overall health and well-being.
Here are some reasons why dog grooming is so important:
1. Hygiene: Regular grooming helps to keep your dog clean and free of dirt, debris, and parasites such as fleas and ticks. This can help to prevent skin infections and other health issues.
2. Health: Grooming allows us to check for any unusual lumps, bumps, or injuries on your dog's body. It also allows us to spot potential health problems early on, such as dental issues or ear infections, so that you can get them treated before they become more serious.
3. Comfort: Grooming can be a relaxing and enjoyable experience for your dog, especially if it's done on a regular basis. It helps to reduce stress and can improve their overall well-being.
In conclusion, dog grooming is an essential part of responsible pet ownership. It helps to keep your dog clean, healthy, and comfortable, and it can also strengthen the bond between you and your furry friend. So, don't forget to give your dog the grooming care they deserve!

Since 1988, Shampooch has been making Botswana's pups look their best! We are the oldest and most established dog grooming parlour in Botswana and our furry friends sometimes travel a long way to pay us a visit and pamper them. It is always best to keep pups clean and washed because, if left too long between grooming, their coats could become tangled and matted, making it harder for the groomers to brush and wash. Call or Whatsapp us on 74114461 to make a booking and find out more. We are open Monday through Friday from 7am. Closed on weekends and public holidays.
Greetings from our groomers!🐾
