I get asked alot, are puppies a lot of work? The answer is YES! There is no sugar coating this. It can be exhausting. To me it feels like the equivalent of having a toddler running around with no diaper that has to chew and bite everything!! The only thing you need when you have a puppy is patients. I work with puppies all the time, but now having one full time, well, let’s just say if i’m being completely honest, yes, i’ve broken down and cried, because I’m tired, I’ve gotten mad, I’ve lost my patience and i haven’t gotten a good night's sleep in 2 weeks. I need to remind myself that the puppy phase is short, that she is looking to us to learn everything she needs to learn to become a well rounded confident adult dog. I’m sharing this post, because if you have a puppy or plan on getting one, know that all these feelings are normal, don’t beat yourself up if you too at times feel this way, it’s all part of the process.

Welcome Nora, the latest addition to the family. Nora is a 10 week old English Bulldog with A LOT of s***k!

I always said I would never get another puppy, I love working with them, but I know how much work it is - ALOT. We decided to get a pup for Luna, who gets attached to the dogs that come and go and never has a friend that stays. It’s also a great opportunity for me to teach my kids how to properly train a dog from a young age and share my knowledge with them. Thru this process I plan on posting tips and tricks along with all the frustrations that can come with having a puppy. Stay tuned!!

No one likes to walk the dog in the rain! This is when I bring out the mental stimulation. Luna had her dinner in a new puzzle tonight. This took close to 15 minutes vs her 2mins. She needed a nap after 😄

A dog is a lifelong commitment. If you can’t dedicate 10-15 years, don’t get one. So many dogs are surrendered daily with the excuse of“I don’t have time” or I’m moving and can’t take my dog. To a dog you are their whole world, so make sure you make them your world too.
