Meet Daisy!
Daisy came to me yesterday after a very hard decision by her owner. This little girl is 4 years old French bulldog. She has Addison disease which is fully under control with medication. This girl is a tough little cookie that Loves to cuddle and isn’t afraid to let other dogs know who is boss!

Today Bean got adopted! She found a loving home with a great couple and a little sister! She’s come a long way and know so many new commands. I will miss her little snorts and sassy personality. Saying goodbye is the harder part, but also the most rewarding!

Bean Update:
The little foster with the biggest attitude! You would never know this little lady has grade 3 level patella issues. She runs, jumps and plays like a puppy. In typical bully fashion she is stubborn and doesn’t always like to be told what to do, and has no issue letting you know when she doesn’t like something. She will be staying with us over Christmas and hoped if all goes well she will find her forever home in 2024.

Stella and Bean updates.
I always said I would never foster more than one at a time. But here we are! 😄
Bean is doing great and is highly motivated to be trained, and she is learning to play well with others. We continue to work on leash reactivity. She loves going to the fields to run free and she LOVES jumping in puddles! Her recall has gone from zero to AMAZING!!!
Stella - 8 days since I’ve had her….she is coming out the cage faster everyday. She gets along with other dogs and has actually started to play with them a little. She is very afraid and cautious of humans. I’ve been feeding her by hand everyday to gain her trust. I am hoping one day soon she will let me touch her. You can tell this girls has trauma. One day at a time.

Introducing Stella!
Thank you for all the suggestions!!
This is a scared little girl who won’t come close to people. She is great with Luna and Bean when she comes out her cage. My goal right now is to get her to trust a little so we can bring her to the vet to get a check up. Todays progress was me feeding her dinner by hand, although nervous she eat. With a dog like this you can’t force anything as it will set her back. One day at a time and we will get there.

Help pick a name for my new foster. She is currently nameless!
Puppy mill dog who hasn’t come out her cage in 7 days. After 2 hours she finally came out, she is extremely scared of people and won’t come near me, but in the meantime we need to name her.

Bean Update: She is adjusting really well. This little 23 pounder is FULL of personality! She loves playing and excels at fetch. She is eager to learn and has sit, down, stay, leave down pat. We are working on threshold training and reactivity on leash. She also suffers from OCD shadow chasing, which I am slowly addressing. She loves to cuddle and that bum is adorable !

Adoption fee has been covered we just need to find a place for her to lay her head.
She is a fixed 6 year old terrier Boxer mix, medium size 45-50lbs.
No Dental or health issues. Good with kids. She must be the only dog in the home (she was previously used as a bait dog) Is currently at Berger blanc Laval. Please share

Bubba update…..

Unfortunately Bubba passed away last night. He was brought to the DMV since he was going down hill fast. Not only had he lost more weight, they discovered he was suffering from renal failure and lymphoma.
I am so thankful that I was able to show him love and give him a safe space and get him off the streets.
RIP Bubba 😢💔

Buddy update week 3
Unfortunately we weren’t able to weight him in today. He had little to no energy and was vomiting a lot today. He hasn’t eaten much in the past couple of days. Trying to get him a vet appointment ASAP to get some tests done.
On a positive note, he had a bath this week, he wasn’t a huge fan but he went along with it. A couple of days he attempted to play with Luna, he was all paws and so adorable! We found out he CAN bark and he doesn’t like cats (no cats were injured during this test!😄)
I am hoping tomorrow brings him an appetite and some more energy, I am started to get concerned. This poor guy 😢

Bubba….week 1
Still weighing in at 70 lbs, he may not have gained weight but he is slowly gaining energy. Recovery from dehydration and malnutrition is a slow road. I am giving him 3 small meals a day. Some days he eats most, some days he only eats 1. As for water this boy can drink!!! I’ve never had to fill up a water bowl so much 😄.
We are starting to see a little more of his personality shine thru….he loves anything that squeaks. He loves being pet and snuggles up close. He is also toilet trained so I believe he must have had owners at some point. In terms of obedience, he knows nothing.
I’m not focussed on training yet, step 1 is recovery and getting used to his new Canadian surroundings.

I saw this post and thought I’d share it! This is spot on! I get asked all the time, how long with it take to fix the problem or how long to train the dog? Training your dog is on going, it becomes part of their daily routine. I don’t mean taking an hour everyday, but more 30 seconds here and there. Have them sit and wait to be fed, going to their bed and staying when company is over, waiting and not going thru any thresholds before being told “ok”; throwing things on the floor and making them “leave” to work on their restraint, making them sit before being pet, heeling and so much more. This also helps build a wonderful bond between you and the dog, and allows your pup to understand the boundaries as well as thrive with consistency.

Day 1 with Bubba. He came to us last night! As he got out the car I couldn’t help but notice every single bone showing thru his dull coat. Despite being weak, he wagged his tail and sniffed around his new home. Luna was happy to have a new friend and them seem to get along fine. Bubba is exhausted, he is finally able to rest. We’ve decided to feed him puppy food and lots of treats to help him put weight on fast. Besides eating and drinking lots, he is sleeping a lot. He isn’t nervous and has already started cuddling up to all of us.

Meet Bubba! A 6 year old boxer bully mix.
He was found a few weeks ago under a trailer in Maimi. Then a couple of days ago he was on the side walk, paws burnt from the heat, completely dehydrated and starving. With no one to take him in, a local Montreal saviour is driving him back and I will be fostering him. He should be hitting Canada on Thursday. I thought that this foster I will log his story and progress in hopes to help find him the perfect home (when he is ready)
I honestly thought I wouldn’t foster again, but after hearing his story and seeing how anyone could do this to a dog, I know I need to help this little soul and show him what love is.
Here are some pictures I was sent, yes they may be disturbing to some, but this is reality of how some people treat dogs. He has seen a local vet and is dehydrated, had a double ear infection a throat infection and multiple sores on his body.
Bubba, starts his journey to Canada today. Can’t wait to meet him

A DOG'S LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT
Before humans die, they write their last will and testament, give their home and all they have, to those they leave behind. If, with my paws, I could do the same, this is what I'd ask . . . To a poor and lonely stray I'd give my happy home; my bowl and cozy bed, soft pillow, and all my toys; the lap, which I loved so much; the hand that stroked my fur; and the sweet voice that spoke my name. I'd will to the sad, scared shelter dog the place I had in my human's loving heart, of which there seemed no bounds.

So, when I die, please do not say, "I will never have a pet again, for the loss is more than I can stand." Instead, go find an unloved dog, one whose life has held no joy or hope and give my place to him. This is the only thing I can give... the love I left behind.

Just a dog. 🥰

From time to time people tell me “chill out, it’s just a dog” or “it’s a lot of money just for a dog.” They don't understand the distance traveled, the time invested or the costs incurred by "just a dog". Some of my proudest moments have occurred with “just a dog.”
Many hours have passed being my only company "just a dog", but not for one moment did I feel despised. Some of my saddest moments have been because of “just a dog,” and on those gray days, the gentle touch of “just a Dog” gave me comfort and the reason to get through the day.

If you also think “it’s just a dog”, then you’ll probably understand phrases like “just a friend”, “just a sunrise” or “just a promise.” “Just a dog” brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust and pure unbridled joy. “Just a dog” brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.

For "just a dog" I will get up early, take long walks and look forward to the future. So for me and people like me, it’s not “just a dog,” but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the memories of the past, and the absolute joy of the moment. “Just a dog” brings out the good in me and takes my thoughts away from myself and daily worries.

I hope one day they can understand that it’s not “just a dog”, but the one that gives me humanity and keeps me from being “just a human.” So the next time you hear the phrase “just a dog”, just smile because they “just don’t get it”.

Some happy clients! These 2 pups were excellent students! The owners did all the homework required and within a couple of months they were able to down baby gates, open the front door without them running out, learning to go on their bed when asked and so much more!
