Getting a dog is a long term commitment of 10-15 years at least. They aren’t disposable, so please for the sake of the dog think twice before giving one as a gift.

Here are 5 essential points to know before adopting a dog 🐾:

1️⃣ Long term commitment
Adopting a dog is a commitment for 10 to 15 years or more. Make sure you're ready to offer time, love and care throughout his lifetime.

2️⃣ Costs to be foreseen 💰
In addition to food, there are veterinary costs (vaccines, deworming, spaying), accessories, and possible medical emergencies. Also provide a fee for grooming and grooming classes if necessary.

3️⃣ Daily time and attention ⏰
Dogs need daily exercise, mental stimulation, and social interaction. Some dogs require more activity than others: walking, playing, and educating them are essential for their wellbeing.

4️⃣ Choice of breed or type 🐕
Each dog has different temperament and needs. Find out about the breed or mix that best fits your lifestyle (energy level, available space, family with children or other animals).

5️⃣ Patience for education 🧠
Learning cleanliness, respecting rules, and grooming takes time. It's important to be patient and consistent. Considering a canine educator can also make all the difference.

Adopting a dog means adding a new member to your family. Preparing well is ensuring a good co-living for years of complicity!

With the heat wave coming, please remember to keep your dog safe and cool! Walk your dog in the morning or at night when the sun has gone down. Remember that pavement can burn your pups paws. Test it first…put the back of your hand on the pavement for 5 seconds, if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for your dog! And please do not leave your dog in the car!!

Lea is all groomed after wearing a cone for 2 weeks! She looks like a new dog! Stitches are out and she is slowly starting to use her leg! This little 7lb girl is so sweet, cuddly and just wants to please. Although not food motivated she has sit, stay, and come down pat. Now we move on to water physiotherapy to help with movement and build muscle is her little leg.

Working with positive reinforcement I primarily use treats to praise the dog. After trying ALOT of different types…I have a winner.
Yes dried liver is amazing and most dogs LOVE it. However if your dog is not food driven, this can be a game changer. Grand Cru, this is raw dehydrated dog food, using this as high value treats is a game changer! And the box with last a LONG time when using it as treats. I’d love to hear feedback if anyone has tried this with there dog.
