Willow Sarin

Little (Willow) Sarin was 8-9 weeks old when she was trapped and rescued from the Happy Forest. She was likely just old enough to make her way to the feeding station where the nice ladies left yummy food. She was one of the lucky ones….born and rescued in summer, never experienced a winter outdoors, trapped young enough to learn to trust humans, and in good health. Before Tinykittens, I knew about feral cats but never thought they were in my own community/back yard. I was stunned to learn the truth. After adopting Willow Sarin, I felt a kinship to the cats and kittens – her family - in the Happy Forest and was determined to help and advocate where I could. I thank Shelly and the TK team for rescuing Willow, allowing me to volunteer, and educating me on feral and community cats.

On days I feel there is little humanity left in the world….I think of the TK team and how much they care and do: By trapping sick/pregnant feral cats/kittens; providing food, medical care, empathy, and love; dragging/hauling tarps, pallets, lumber, bales of straw, bags of food, and jugs of fresh water (cold in the summer and warm in the winter!) over ditches and through the forest – in the snow, rain, ice, and heat EVERY DAY; hunkering down for countless hours on days, nights, weekends, holidays, fixathons – whenever there is a need – to help a cat in need; snuggling and socializing sick kittens and cats with ring worm, respiratory issues and other medical problems; transporting cats to vet/medical appts; delivering p**p and PCR samples for testing; washing and folding tons of laundry; bleaching rooms and EVERYTHING in the rooms; educating children and communities; saving as many cats as possible; reaching out to find amazing homes for all the graduates, and supporting each other during devastating losses. (Etc, etc, etc….) It’s is not all glamor and kitten snuggles….so much is done behind the scenes and I just want to acknowledge this amazing team (you know who you are!
