Many of our horses are pretty good trail / obstacle horses, a skill the piggy ones have learned to parlay into a way to guard their feed and keep it away from their buddies.

CM Califa, our buckskin tobiano NAPHA reg Half-Peruvian, also fully reg Spotted Saddle Horse (w/ gait test). Just turned a year, stood so nice for the farrier yesterday after I took the pictures. A bit of a “lottery win”- since we didn’t know her black and white mom also carried cream until Califa started to turn gold. DNA testing confirmed smokey black mom and the filly as buckskin.

On Oct 30 we picked up CM Lunareja from Star Walker Ranch - where she had been in training with Nicole Hirsekorn. The Halloween obstacle course had been set up all week and you can see the creative de-spooking objects. So fun to get to bring this young mare home with a great base and ride here here!

Welcome a Half-Peruvian filly from our Spotted Saddle mare Rambling Colors, sired by CM Innovacion. Pictured at two days, she was born early May 9 after only 316 days gestation. (Horse average is 340 days but 320-365 is considered “normal”.) Strong and vigorous and we couldn’t be happier. Gait video will be made today.

Congratulations and thanks to Barb Wright of New York, on her purchase of CM Soliluz, 6 year old gelding. Soliluz was trained by Oscar Vasquez S. Barb has experience with Peruvian horses, so they should make an excellent team. We will miss him but are happy he is in a great home.

Please note, if you are familiar with other breeds, the even four-beat gait of a Peruvian Horse is called the "Paso Llano". It can be slow or fast, and fancy or humble. In other breeds, the even four-beat gait is referred to by other names and the ex*****on is done differently in every breed, however the footfall pattern remains the same. The Paso Llano, Rack, Tolt, Paso Corto and Running Walk all are even four beat gaits that will have left rear, left front, right rear and right front hitting the ground in evenly spaced beats. Celebrating a beautiful 16 year old Peruvian mare, with her lovely new owner, Jennifer McCollister, 3rd generation Peruvian Horse owner. "Corona" was a successful show and broodmare, and is now going to be a promoting the Peruvian breed. Her bloodlines are *TMR Apolo x MJM Ileana.

This purebred Peruvian mare, Barcelona SV, was born in 1992 so she will soon be 27 years old. She is in great health without even any noticeable arthritis! Her owner Lesa Steeves gad a hip replacement last summer. Great to see these two out for a spring spin. I have posted Barcelona’s pedigree for interest. She is registered in the Peruvian Longevity Project.

This is 3/4 Peruvian filly CM Perfecta. Sired by CM Innovacion out of CM Raya Blanca. She is 18 months old, and shows what we are getting in gait, strength, bone, and build in our partblood Peruvian pinto breeding program. Not for sale but we will have others of these bloodlines in the future! (As well as outstanding purebreds.) Congratulations and thanks to Dave Johnson of Michigan on his purchase of CM Andaluz, 5 yr old black gelding. Dave is an experienced Peruvian Horse owner and spent the time to get to know the horse and ride him many times before and after making a commitment. They are back in Michigan now settling in. Dave bought a c**t from Crescent Moon Ranch in 1984 and has owned and raised quite a few since then, both on his own and in his partnership with Raintree Peruvians. Andaluz could not have a better home. We will follow Dave and Andaluz on some “bucket-list” travels in the coming years.
