New baby!
Mom & I are excited to share the arrival of our first foal of the year! A gorgeous, tiny exotic buckskin colt with a star. This baby was a team effort! We purchased PHR Idols Manhattan Bey “Maddie” from Aimee Davis, Painted H Ranch in California in 2023. Maddie made her way north to Casey’s in 2024 and then up to Elegant Art Miniature Horses in Washington to be bred to World Champion stallion, Elegant Art Designed to Impress. Thank you Kelsie for opening Lou’s private book to us . When I considered having Maddie bred somewhere before coming up to Canada, Lou was the first stallion I thought of! Once confirmed in foal, Maddie headed north to Chilliwack BC and waited for a hauler for her final destination, Amaretto Miniature Show Horses near Calgary, Alberta. This colt has a great pedigree combining Impress on the topside with Kelsie’s Prada mare line; and Billy Idol & Nighthawk on the dam side. Thank you to the whole crew for all you do for me as we continue to pursue excellence in our program!! Can’t wait to present this show colt in 2026.
Sunny
A great update on Sunny, who is thriving in his new home! Thank you Stephanie M.
I’m very proud to share the new mare I bought myself for Christmas.
Coci’s Simply Alluring 💋 “Smooch” 💋
Sired by our World Grand Champion stallion Hunterberry Hill Simply Impressive and out of World Grand Champion mare, Hunterberry Hill Impressive Allure.
Smooch has the makings of a fine harness horse and is being started under harness in Oregon by Brenna Harden.
The first Spaz babies are being started under harness this year and we have been very pleased and excited to see the exceptional movement in his foals while retaining the exotic Arabian type we love.
Thank you Cameron & Avery Nelson, Cindy McPike for letting Smooch be a part of our success.
Sharing.. when we sent Sunny to Alliance Training Center Alba, Tx I gave them the heads up that he was hard to clip.. a few weeks later I get a video from Carey of him enjoying his face being clipped - no drugs. Just love and patience. Alliance puts a huge focus on respecting and honouring the horses. We love being part of Team Alliance ❤️
I have a bunch of great video on my phone that I took this year. I usually keep them to myself.
I like to make sure I take loads of photos and video of the foals so I can reflect and study them when the foal is older.
In our experience most traits of the grown horse can be found in their foal photos and video.
A good breeder is constantly educating their eye to envision the grown horse from the foal that’s in front of them. It’s probably one of the most challenging things in breeding.
Anyways, my musings on a Sunday night..
New Show Pad
I propositioned a talented friend of mine this summer if she could custom design a show back pad for me for my show harness. And here it is!🇨🇦 🐑 Wool Stuffed 🐑 🇨🇦 ULTRA comfortable & cushioned but still sleek and low profile under a saddle. Made of HIGH QUALITY leather with quality Velcro straps to help secure it. Ive been using these new “show pads” on my work harnesses (show season next June feels so far away) and it occurred to me that the same back pad will be able to clean up for the show ring no problem - leather cleans up so nice with care. I’m a huge fan of leather and it’s all I use. Anyways, my horses have been loving the extra comfort. Looking forward to many years of using these!! Morgan doesn’t have Facebook but I can send you her email for you to reach out and order one. Ships from Alberta Canada.
