Western Canadian Canine Academy All levels of Obedience, Group Classes, Puppy Education Classes, Sport Detection Classes, Private in-home lessons, and Behavior Modification.

All classes and lessons are taught by a Certified Professional Trainer. WCCA believes a positive and balanced relationship with clear communication is key to a happy, confident, and obedient canine friend. Our obedience is taught with a reward based system using markers to communicate with your dog in a clear and consistent manner. Our Puppy Education Classes are rolling admission so you can start

any time after your puppy has had a first vaccine and health check. We believe that starting to establish a positive relationship as soon as possible with socialization can set a great foundation and prevent bad habits before they occur! Sport Detection is about having fun with your dog as well as building relationships with teamwork! With our classes we focus on independence with a clear and calm indication to odor. We love to see dogs and their handlers strive to compete in this sport and continue to watch it grow here in Alberta!

🐾 Life Skills and Manners Class
Build your relationship with your dog and work on focus around distractions. During this 6 week class we learn basic obedience skills and create a well mannered dog.

Starts Tuesday January 14 6:30 pm

🐾 Training for the Real World Class
Take your dog’s training to the next level and prepare for the real world! During this 6 week class we will strengthen obedience skills while working on distractions and more advanced skills. We will cover skills such as moving downs, drop on recall, stays, finish, signals and more. We also play games to challenge your obedience and have fun!

🐾 Introduction to Scent Detection starts Sunday January 12 at 3:00 pm

We teach a bomb proof indication at the source of target odor. During this 6 week class your dog will learn to work independently with drive to search while pinpointing the source of odor with a calm, clear indication.

Maximum 4 dogs per class
Includes: A clicker, and an odor box

🐾 Scent Detection Level 3
Starts Sunday January 12 4:30 pm

Do you want to take your scent detection searches to the next level? This 6 week class will focus on challenging searches that will include, multiple hides, elevated hides, distractions, inaccessible hides and more.

Maximum 4 dogs per class
