The beach yesterday at the beginning of the wind storm - a totally different scene compared to today! Watch Miso almost blow away at the end🌬️🐕🦺 😂
Raw clips of a peaceful beach walk today with Romeo & Styx❄️
Diego is joining us today and he’s got everyone on silly mode! They’ve been having a blast popping in and out of the house to bop around and play! “Chase” is the name of the game today, and Styx and Diego couldn’t be happier to get it going!😍
Another day with the beach all to ourselves! It was a completely different scene today - calm waters, the shoreline has receded, and there was plenty of room for us to walk far along the beach for quite a distance. It was really cold out today, but the beach felt warmer. Romeo & Styx had a great time exploring all the new shells, driftwood, and debris that washed ashore during the wind storm yesterday. Was such a peaceful walk💕🐶🐾
Gigantic unrecognisable winterised Winston the Sheepadoodle is back! He’s spending the night here at Pluto’s Place with the beagles! Winston last spent some time with us over the summer and his coat was cropped so short that he looks like a completely different dog now with his winter coat all grown out! Love him all fluffy and looking so sheepdog-like! He’s being such a good boy and proving to be an excellent lap dog as he towers over me🤣
Love how close these boys have become! Pluto has been such a good influence on Styx, who grows more and more confident every day! On Feb 2, he’ll have been here 3 months, which is when they say rescue dogs really start to settle in and feel at home. We’re already noticing the shift! So far, his best friend at our daycare is Romeo, who joins us most days during the week. Their friendship has been so positive for Styx, who loves being his walking buddy and looks forward to his arrival everyday (and cries when he leaves!)🥰
We’re now accepting new members! At Pluto’s place, we book an average of 2-3 dogs per day and have a well established pack of regular visitors. We’re very selective about who we include in our pack. If you have a well behaved, leash trained dog who prefers smaller group settings and all the comforts of home, please contact us today! We’d love to meet your dog and introduce them to our pack!🐾🐶💕

It’s Milo’s final day of boarding, so we decided a snowy walk through the woods would be a great send off before he heads back home. It wasn’t nearly as cold today, so Betsy & Pluto were overjoyed to join us again! We’ve really enjoyed having Milo with us this week, and Romeo loved having him as a walking buddy! These two gentle giants keep the same pace, which makes exploring a delight🥰 Another awesome day at Pluto’s Place! 💕🐶🐾
Miso, Milo, & Romeo enjoyed a freezing cold walk in the woods today (not that they noticed)! The bay has frozen over, sending an icy wind through the trees along with some snow flurries. No complaints here, though (as I channel my inner Wim Hof)❄️The colder the weather, the more we get our favourite spaces (mostly) to ourselves. When distractions are limited, it makes our adventures extra special! An elderly man passed us by today and said “Only the die-hards are out today”😂 He’s right! The streets and trails were bare! Besides the pouring rain, there isn’t much that could keep us from exploring all the wonders this neighbourhood has to offer! This pack is always ready to go! The beagles had to stay home today because of the cold, but they were happy because I made them frozen stuffed kongs to soften the blow before we left. So far, it’s been a great day!
This pack must have antifreeze running through their veins! They don’t seem feel the cold and it was FREEZING today, -20! (I always watch them for signs of discomfort) Styx, unlike the rest of his beagle pack who had to stay home, is used to double digit sub-zero temperatures after living in the far north for the first 2yrs of his life. Romeo has the greatest fur coat in town, and Milo is a berbedoodle, so he’s blessed with those hearty mountain dog genes! We had a great time exploring the beach and the boardwalk! Every time we go it’s a little different, even day to day. Today, we noticed that someone had strewn white carnation heads and petals over the sand. No doubt, our pack immediately sniffed and inspected this treasure (so rest assured it’s not dead fish they’re pawing at😂)
The beach looked beautiful today with rolling waves, different ice formations building up along the shore, and a giant flock of Canada geese swimming and flying around the bay (Styx was hoping he could catch one). After the beach, we we walked the boardwalk for a few minutes, then we headed home through two different parks, staying mostly on the grass to keep everyone’s paws as salt free as possible. Love that we live in a neighbourhood with so much dog-friendly green space! We were out for just under 2hrs, which was perfect for a cold day like today!💕❄️🐾
Everyone is fresh and ready for a new week at Pluto’s Place! Milo & Romeo are especially lively today, which means they’ll have plenty of energy for the beach later on! 🌞❄️😄
More clips from our beach adventure! Watch the beagles howl at (ok, scare) ducks and Milo being the perfect dog😂💕🐶🐩🐾
