For the second year running, Pepper’s Pack Pet Care has brought home top honours in the Ajax CommunityVotes 2024 campaign as the Platinum Award Winner in the Pet Sitter and Kennel categories.

A mega-chonk sized thank you goes out to everyone who voted for me this past year, and an extra special thank you goes out to all of my amazing clients for their continued patronage and trust in me. Being able to look after your furry loved ones brings me so much joy, and knowing that I’ve helped the people in my community has brought me far more fulfillment and a greater sense of accomplishment than any other job I’ve held. Welcome ✨LEXIE✨

This gorgeous girl is a 2 year old Boglen (a beagle-Boston terrier mix) and is the newest member of Pepper’s Pack. Lexie is an absolute sweetheart who enjoys an enthusiastic game of tug, meeting her friend at the dog park, and occasionally being carried around like a princess 😂

Lexie will be boarding with me next month, and in preparation for her stay, she has already had a trial visit to help ease her transition into a new environment. Dropping your pet off in a new and unknown setting can be stressful and anxiety-inducing; in order to limit this, I always recommend a short stay (or two) with me prior to any scheduled boarding. This gives your pet a chance to gradually acclimate to my house without overwhelming them. I have done this with several clients already and have found it to be very effective in preparing them for a longer stay.

Let’s talk ✨CHRISTMAS BREAK✨

For many of us, Christmas break has officially begun, and there are lots of family gatherings, parties and celebrations taking place. While some pets handle noise, company and merrymaking without issue, others are a little more sensitive, and do better in a quieter space. Rather than having to choose between the two options, Brodie’s owners opted to have him stay here with me at Pepper’s Pack for the night so they could host their extended family without any issue.

Welcome (and Happy Birthday!!) ✨CHARLIE✨

This super cute Yorkie is celebrating his 4th birthday today, and will be spending a week boarding with me here at Pepper’s Pack next month while his family attend a wedding in Morocco. In advance of his stay, and to help ease his anxiety, Charlie has had a few “practice sleepovers” with me, and has made himself right at home.

Overnight boarding can be daunting for pets (and owners!), so whenever possible, I highly recommend a few pre-holiday stays to help ease the pet‘s introduction to the new environment, and gradually let them acclimate to their temporary new surroundings. I have done this with a few clients now, and have found it to be extremely beneficial! If you have a holiday coming up, or even just a quick night or two away, and require boarding, feel free to reach out 🥰🐾

Welcome ✨CALI✨

This stunning girl is a 5 year old Potcake who was rescued from the streets of Mexico, and is now living a very comfortable life with her lovely new owners. Although her first couple of years were undoubtedly difficult, and she has a few battle scars to prove it, she is an absolutely charming pup with such a sweet disposition! I have the privilege of walking her three times a week and I very much look forward to seeing her each time 🥰.

Welcome ✨GRUBER✨

This handsome boy is a 14 year old Husky who is named after one of the biggest Christmas villains of all time (iykyk 👀). Gruber is nothing like his namesake though - he is the gentlest, calmest, snuggliest, quietest (!!) husky I’ve ever met. He recently spent Thanksgiving weekend boarding with me here at Pepper’s Pack, while his family enjoyed a quick getaway up north. While here, he was spoiled with pettings, love, leisurely walks, and a few liver treats as well. He also enjoyed a quiet nap in the backyard for a couple of hours, and then came in for some more snuggles. He is an absolute doll and is welcome back any time! 🐾

This beautiful boy is a 4 year old Chihuahua-Westie mix who made the journey here all the way from the Lone Star State. As a rescue, his backstory is a little murky, but his future is bright! This five year old Boston Terrier-Bulldog mix will be enjoying some one on one time with me while his family is taking a long overdue holiday. In addition to our walk (which includes multiple stops so he can roll on the grass 👀), he also gets lots of playtime, snuggles, belly rubs and a little snacko of apples and blueberries. This super active boy is a big bundle of silliness and gives the most slobbery kisses I’ve ever had! 🐾

Welcome ✨DASH✨

This lovely lady is a 3 year old German Shepherd-Belgian Malinois-Alaskan Malamute mix, and is the newest member of Pepper’s Pack! She is a gentle giant who has the most dazzling array of bow ties I have ever seen 😍

Dash is a sensitive soul who takes her time warming up to people, and who prefers the company of a select few individuals. As an introvert myself, I can appreciate her trepidation in meeting new friends and being in new surroundings.

Over the last few weeks, I have done my best to slowly and patiently ease my way into her trusted circle of friends. I began by going on walks with Dash and her owner, and then transitioning to just Dash and myself, in order to help her become more comfortable with me outside the presence of her safe people. Our first couple of solo walks were successful though lacked any interaction outside of Dash obeying her regular commands. On our most recent walk, however, she accepted treats directly from my hand and permitted me to pet her. While these small acts may seem insignificant, they actually represent a big step towards building trust, which is crucial to developing a positive relationship 🐾

This distinguished looking gentlemen is an almost 7 year old mini poodle who recently spent five days boarding with me while his family attended a sporting event in Boston. While here, he enjoyed several walks a day, lots of playtime, and even a few frozen peanut butter Kong treats 👀.

He is quite possibly the biggest cuddle bug I’ve hosted so far, and I lost count of the number of times I walked into a room and found him curled up on my husband’s lap, or wrapped in a big hug. Of course, Finn would cuddle with me too, but only if his first choice of snuggle buddy was unavailable. I’m not saying I’m jealous, but…..

This 5 year old boy has an air of quiet dignity about him. Although not shy and aloof like many cats, he will let you know what his boundaries are, and when he has reached his socializing limit.

I had the pleasure of checking in on Spock while his family was camping last week, and in addition to the usual food/water/litter box clean up included in my In-Home TLC visits, I also administered Spock’s epilepsy medication. Having studied animal nursing, and diseases and emergencies in school, as well as being Pet First Aid certified, administering medication is a service that I can offer to my clients. Please don’t let any special needs be an impediment to booking with me; I am always happy to discuss and accommodate your pet’s specific concerns 🐾
