🔒 Biosecurity Tips for When Away From Home 🔒

Ensuring horse health and safety is paramount. Follow these key biosecurity measures:

- Stall Labels: Complete for each horse with name and 24-hour emergency contact.
- Temperature Checks: Record twice daily. Report any temperature over 38.8°C (102°F).
- No Sharing: Avoid sharing feed/water containers, tack, and equipment. Disinfect if necessary.
- Hygiene: Wash hands or use sanitizer after handling horses.
- Clean Stalls: Sanitize your assigned stall before bringing your horse in.
- No Contact: Prevent nose-to-nose contact between horses and disinfect surfaces if licked or sniffed.
- Monitor Health: Report any signs of illness immediately and isolate horses for 21 days post-competition.

55 plus Games Update for Competitors

Thanks to all those who entered for the games. We are excited to have over 90 competitors expected in 6 Disciplines!

Schedules and information will be posted by 55+ Games on their website. Ride times will be available at check-in on Tuesday, September 10. Please note that you need to adhere to these times as there are no gate holds or changes unless competition needs dictate.

There is now a form on the 55+ website that will allow an Equestrian zone team member to pick up packages for the entire group or designated members. Please make sure this form is submitted by end August.
Anyone not included in these forms will need to pick up their own package. Shuttle bus service is provided from the Fair Grounds to the Rogers Rink.
Packages will not automatically be available at the Fairgrounds.
Someone must pick them up for your zone/group.

It is also essential that all participants go to the HCBC website and print Biosecurity Form. A completed form is required to enter the grounds. A Veterinarians signature is not required but please ensure that you only bring healthy and vaccinated equines to the games. We don't want to spread any equine infections.

Those who have booked camping and stabling must ensure they have paid HCBC in advance. Stalls will also require a stall deposit check of $40.00 made out to Shuswap Lake Pony Club. Stalls that are cleaned and checked will have the check returned. Those left uncleaned will be cleaned by the club for the deposit check.

DRESSAGE TESTS for the 55+ Games are the EC 2023 tests, and are available on the EC website, and in the Dressage Canada Handbook, 2023 - 2026.

WESTERN DRESSAGE TESTS for the 55 Games are the 2024 HCBC tests available on the HCBC website under the "Competitions" tab. After clicking on the "Competitions" tab, click on the "Competition Documents" tab. The Western Dressage tests are at the bottom of the listing.
