💙 A huge thank you to all of our new volunteers who came out in this *beautiful* Pacific Northwest weather for our training day this weekend. Several of our CanTRA certified instructors will be teaching them our side-walking procedures and policies using our lovely therapy horses.

Our program could not exist without our volunteers, and this group of lovely people will be joining our team for the fall term as we expand our client-base.

We are looking to fill some vital shifts for our Fall Term! Commitments for a shift can range from 30 min to a couple hours. We'll work with you!

Side walkers (no horse experience necessary)
Tuesdays 3pm-4:30pm
Thursdays 10:30am-12:30pm
Fridays 2pm-3:30pm

Leaders (horse experience required)
Tuesdays 3:30-4 or 4:30pm
Thursdays 12:30-1pm and 4pm - 5pm
Fridays 4:30-5pm.

Happy BC Day!

We love being in beautiful BC and want to acknowledge the location of our barn on the traditional lands of the Cayuse, Kwantlen, Semiahmoo, S’ólh Téméxw, Umatilla and Walla Walla people.

No games on the phone for Tillie, BUT we do have games on horseback for our clients!

Many sessions involve a variety of games played while riding to help engage the client. Our instructors are SO creative at all the different things they come up with!

We're so excited to welcome a new therapeutic riding horse to the Valley family.

Zuzut is a Canadian, no not nationality, the breed! Canadian horses decided from draft and light riding horses that were imported to Canada from France in the late 1600s. She's pretty rare, there are only about 6,000 of this beautiful breed worldwide right now. And we're so excited to have one at our barn!

She's spent the past few years as a trail horse, and will spend the next little bit getting used to her new family of horses, people, and Atticus before starting this new chapter as a therapy horse.

Congratulations and welcome to our new instructor Michelle Blatt

If you spend any time at Valley on the weekend you'll be already familiar with Michelle, as she has been a long term volunteer here doing side-walking and leading. She came up through our mentorship program which offers the opportunity for people to learn how to become therapeutic riding instructors, and eventually do their certification with CanTRA.

We are SO thrilled to have Michelle on staff here!

Hi everyone!

Looking for some new horses to join the team as we loose some of our lovely horses for there retirement. We know program horses are worth their weight in gold and we treat them as such. Valley Therapeutic Equestrian Association provides medically referred therapeutic riding for children and adults of varying abilities.

We operate on a free lease arrangement and provide excellent care for our valued therapeutic horses. We have barn stalls, turnout paddocks and fields in the summer for grazing.

We are looking for horses in the 13.3 - 16.1 hand range, 8-22 years young, who have been there, done that, sound for walk, trot, canter - all flatwork, , great temperaments, love people, great with other horses, not spooky, used to indoor arenas, stand quietly for grooming sessions.

We do a 30 day trial, and assessment
