I am once again away at show next week, so schedules will get shifted around as needed the next couple weeks to allow me to take some days off.
Ella has also finished her last day with us! Our new groomer Kara will be starting once I’m back from show, so I can be there to introduce and ease her into working in our salon. If you have any questions about grooms please contact!

Warmer weather is (hopefully) on the horizon. Spring/summer is the busiest time for grooming, so if you need an appointment to get your pups ready for hot weather then book ASAP to ensure you get in. Both groomers are rapidly booking up so secure a spot now!!

Happy (late) New Year!!!

I took a quiet break over the holiday season, the last year has been a big struggle for me and it caught up with me. I lost my Dad at the end of summer after a few very hard months, and it really put me into a low place.

I needed some space to grieve during the holiday season, and it was very helpful. I’m feeling a bit more like myself and have gotten back the passion I was loosing while trying to continue a “normal” life.

That being said, I’ve been a bit forgetful and absent minded with booking in regular appointments, so please reach out as they usually restart in January! So if you want a 4-8 week schedule let me know.

Ella still has room for new clients so if you or someone you know needs grooming she has spaces available!

We are quickly approaching Christmas!! Make an appointment ASAP to ensure your pup is ready for your holiday activity. The shop is closed from December 23-January 2.

Due to an increase in our payment fees, we will have to start charging a $3 surcharge on all debit/credit payments. Thank you for understanding, as these small increases add up to quite a bit monthly and for a small business it is a decent amount of income lost due to fees.

As a groomer we have “dream” breeds we want to own. This little gal has been my dream for years. Border Terriers are tenacious, smart and full of personality. In my whole career (16 years) I’ve never had the pleasure of grooming one. Now I have my very own and can’t wait for her coat to come in so I can start hand stripping her.

I can finally say warmer weather is here!!
Hot weather means hot pups, these next few months are the busiest of the year in the salon.
We strongly recommend pre booking ALL appointments over these next few months, to ensure you can keep your pup as comfortable as possible in the coming heat.
Becky will be working extended hours July/August and taking off the last two weeks of August.

The reasons I can’t work evenings or weekends anymore…
Both my kids are in competitive sports, my daughter is an equestrian, my son is a soccer and baseball player. My evenings and most weekends are spent driving to and from somewhere, taxiing them around to a game or a lesson.

My work has always come after my family and unfortunately until one of them can drive it all falls to me 😆

It’s also why I don’t answer messages most evenings and weekends, I’m spending time, being present and supporting them.

One day, it won’t always be on me and I can get some freedom back, but for now, I will shove food into them, grab my keys and take them where they need to go.

Update for all! Majority of my clients are on a recurring schedule, therefore I am booked up until end of March as regular 4-8 week scheduled clients are given preferred bookings. I am still unable to take on new clients as well. Ella has started on her grooming apprenticeship and is taking clients starting the next couple of weeks, so she is available for simple haircuts *note if your dog is a challenging dog, ie old age, grooming trauma, fearful, she is unable to take on at this time*

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!! It’s been an eventful year for me here at home and in the salon. I am thankful for each and everyone of you and all the support and understanding through it all.
Just a reminder that I won’t be working most Sundays starting January.
I will be training my lovely new bather to groom starting this month as well, so will have some grooming appointments available for her. All training grooms are supervised and finished by me.

The snow is pretty bad out there today. I work from home so don’t have to worry about travel so if the power is on I’m always open. But I also understand if you don’t feel safe driving in this and have to cancel!
Today and tomorrow are my last days of work before holidays, so any cancellations unfortunately won’t be rebooked before Christmas.

Meet our new bather Ella!! She has lots of experience with animals of all shapes and sizes, eagerness to learn and an incredible work ethic. She will be apprenticing in the new year for grooming but for now is available to bath, clip nails and brush out any pups that need it!!

Just a heads up to all clients, as per the usual, my road was never plowed and has a pretty nice sheen of ice on it now. Just be aware the road is icy and parking in my cleared driveway is allowed!!

Also as of January I will be moving to one Sunday a month. This year has been difficult and I’ve decided I need to have more time set aside for family.

I have some great news!!! Unexpectedly I found a young woman who is a perfect fit and she will be taking over Angela’s clients for BATH dogs only. I will eventually be training her to do grooming but for now she is available for bathing. Message to book in with her!

Just to keep everyone updated. I’m (Becky) back to work, on reduced hours. Unfortunately I’ve had a very emotional month with a lot of not great things happen, and grief is something that doesn’t just go away.
Coupled with my lovely groomer Angela having her last day tomorrow (😭😭😭) I’ve been struggling a little bit.
I thank you all for your patience, and understanding while I’m navigating through this.
I’m hoping if I take a little extra time for my family, I will be able to handle the busy holiday season!

We have some sad news to share today, our beloved groomer Angela is moving!! 😭😭😭
Of course I am beyond happy and excited for her to live her new life up in the interior but will definitely miss her, as will many of you!

Now the bigger bummer, I am unable to take on any of her clients, as my schedule is booked up months in advance.
I am hoping to find a new employee to help out in the salon, and hopefully apprentice to become a full groomer but that will take time.
