His wife, Laura Rye, runs the training and horse starting service our farm provides. Eli has been doing the Farrier work on the majority of the 50 horses we have on our farm. His expertise started with getting competitive endurance horses feet balanced and shoes fitted to go the distance. In the winter, he flies to Florida to do our horses feet who are competing in the United States. We are adding
another farrier to our farm starting July 1st, so we are really pleased to able to offer this service to outside clients within a 50 mile radius of our farm here in Hockley Valley, Ontario. Travel is not an issue as he goes to Florida every six weeks in the winter months - the cost of which will be at the clients expense.
Brenda Harrison, the founder of our farm 3rd Day Endurance, is still giving lessons and trail rides, soon to be 75 years old. She has dedicated her life to horses and the training thereof for over 50 years. Her policy has always been - all breeds, makes and models were welcome. From 100 mile competitive endurance race horses to school ponies and everything in between. This policy has continued to this day and been brought forward in our farrier business. Remember, the horses foot needs to be cared for; it is the foundation where everything begins for care of that horse. We have specialized in solving many lameness and disease issues in the foot of the horse that has given countless testimonies of horses recovering, becoming sound, and going on to live a full life. This aspect of the farrier business gives us the most pleasure. We will keep an accurate record of your horses feet including length of toe, hoof angles, specialty work, scheduling and more which allows us to review with the client at any given time.
