Spaghetti sauce I made last night from scratch.
Roma tomatoes, carrots, onion, garlic peppers and oyster mushrooms all came from our gardens. Herbs from a friends garden. Beef from Hessel farm in the north. Tonight's task is to get this into jars and in the pressure cooker :)

A little too much mycelium blocks, and not enough compost in the worm bins. Got some nice Oyster mushrooms though! Happy little accidents! Lol

We're extremely excited to be invited to be part of this year's Carleton Place Farmers' Market!!!😃😃 (Saturday's from 8:30am-12:30pm, May 13th- Oct. 14th, 2023)

My Amaranth and Leek microgreens are almost ready to eat! 🎉 And can I just say, the amaranth is looking absolutely gorgeous 😍 It's almost too pretty to eat... almost.

But don't wait too long to order your Amaranth microgreens, because those worms sure do love the leftover root pads! 🪱👀 It's all part of my sustainable cycle, where the leftovers from my mushroom block act as substrate for the worms, and the root pads become delicious snacks for the worms. And what do the worms produce? High-quality worm p**p for indoor plant fertilizer! ♻️🌱 So grab your microgreens and help keep the cycle going. 🍴

I love growing green things just as much as growing mushrooms.

Radish
Leek ( just starting )
Broccoli
Amaranth
Mustard - just added to light cycle that's why it yellow

Then the left over mushroom blocks and microgreen pads go to the worms 🪱 to make me some of the best fertilizer for the micro greens and all the house plants 🪴can wait for the farmers market this year.

Maybe this is the year I'll get into soldier fly larvea for chicken feed and fertilizer to add to the system.
