Did you know we help as turtle first responders for the Ontario Turtle Conservation Center? Injured turtles can be brought here as a first stop on their way to more rehab in Peterborough. Even severely injured turtles can be saved and returned to where they came from.

We are in need of more plastic tubs as we send them along with the turtles, rubbermaid work great, so if you have any lying around, we would happily take them as a temporary housing for the turtles.

Care for all our critters is so important. Keep an eye out for turtles on the roads and report injured turtles to people who can help.

Injured Turtle? Call 705-741-5000.
We intake Turtles from all across Ontario.

Here are some steps to take when you find an injured Turtle!
- Get the Turtle into your vehicle or to a safe space.
- Note the exact location you found the Turtle.
- Give us a call at 705-741-5000.
- Put it into a dry, well ventilated box or bin - do not give the Turtle food, water, or treatment in any way. Keep them at room temperature.
- Wait for us to give you further instructions or call you back.
- Drive the Turtle to the centre or a first responder clinic close to you. Or wait patiently as we arrange for a volunteer driver to get the Turtle from you. You must have the Turtle in your possession for us to send a volunteer Turtle Taxi driver

May long weekend is our busiest weekend of the year. You may have to wait longer than usual to hear from us or have a Turtle picked up, but as long as they are safe and secure with you - that is much better than them being out on the road getting hit again and suffering further. Thank you all for being on the lookout and stay safe!

Unfortunately, our clinic server has failed. This morning, please give us a bit of extra time and understanding during this difficult period. We should be back to full capacity this afternoon. We are still seeing appointments, but have temporarily turned phones off until we have resolved the matter.

Halloween is fast approaching! This year we would like to hold a little contest. Bring your pet by the clinic or send us a picture of your pet in their spooktacular costume. We’ll post them online this week. Each like=1 vote.

The pet with the most likes will receive a mystery prize. The winner will be announced on November 1st. Looking forward to seeing all the creative costumes!

Poor little Tink hasn't been feeling well lately. Dr. Thomas adopted her earlier this year and adores this little lady. She brought her into the clinic this week to see what has been going on. As suspected, she had a very obvious foreign body in her stomach causing a partial blockage of her stomach outflow. We don't always get so lucky with seeing things on x-ray. Can you guess what was found surgically?

Update! Tink is doing well
