Dear Valued Customers,
It saddens me to do this but due to Covid-19 and the difficulties it has caused to small businesses I have had to make some hard decisions, a few months ago now I took a position working outside of my grooming parlour in an effort to make ends meet; as many of my more regular customers know. But now I have had to make further decisions, I am now having to close my doors as it was not feasible for my family financially or myself physically to continue working both jobs. Thank you for your patience and patronage, I hope the future finds you all well and happy.

Due to the Covid 19 lockdown, Paw-la's Pet Parlour will be closed until the lockdown is lifted. I have confirmation from Covid 19 Information that dog groomers are suppose to be closed during this time. The pet services allowed to be open are Veterinary Services.

Finally, the sign for Paw-la's Pet Parlour has arrived! I hope this will assist clients to better be able to find our location. The shop is just located in the back door.

Though my shop is located in my private home, masks are still mandatory if you are staying with your pet for the groom. I have to protect my clients, and my family.

Good Morning Everyone!
I am wondering what precautions would ease your worries of Covid-19 and your pet that I can add to my list of things to do for you?

Currently I am offering:
+ Less appointments per day so that I can sanitize twice as much
+ One on one appointments no one else present in the shop aside from myself
+ Pet drop off/pick up at the door or I will come out to your car
+ E-transfer only currently
+ Not accepting appointments with those who have traveled internationally or within Canada in the past 15 days (or has been in contact with someone who has) including their pets

With dogs and cats who are not fans of nail trims I have found often they are more comfortable with having their nails filed. What are your thoughts on filing or clipping? How did you acclimate your pets to their nail trims?

Several months ago I got an emergency call for a groom where an Aussie was severely matted. The importance of a regular brushing and seeing a groomer is shown in these images. I had permission to show the severity of the matting to use as a teaching method. The photo clearly shows the happiness of being freed from her matting, though fur much shorter it was pure joy for this angel.

People have every reason and right to be worried about this pandemic, but in light of hearing rumors and stories of people beginning to abandon their fur-babies I thought it would be best to share some information I have found on this subject.

While I have noticed that the websites have differing opinions on contact with your pet while ill, I still do not believe there is any reason to abandon your pet in this strenuous time.

Thankfully it looks like spring has sprung! I have had enough of the cold weather personally, but with spring comes... Spring cleaning.
Take one thing off your list of things you have to clean and book a Spring S-Paw day for your fur-baby.
