Did you know that human medications can be extremely dangerous for your pets? 💊🐾

Whether it's a painkiller, antidepressant, or even a common cold medicine, pets often mistake these pills for treats, but they can cause serious harm.

Here’s what can happen if your pet ingests human medications:

⚠️ Toxic reactions like vomiting, diarrhea, or seizures
⚠️ Kidney or liver damage
⚠️ Coma or even death in severe cases

Even medications that are safe for humans can be life-threatening for animals. Always store your meds in a secure, pet-proof place, and never leave them unattended.

If you think your pet has eaten human medication, contact your vet immediately. Prompt action can make all the difference in protecting your pet’s health. 🏥💊

Let’s keep our furry friends safe and sound! ❤️🐶🐱

Did you know that moldy fruit or food can be dangerous for your furry friends? 😟🍓

When pets ingest moldy items, they can be exposed to mycotoxins, which are harmful substances produced by mold. These toxins can cause severe reactions such as:

🚨 Vomiting 🚨 Diarrhea 🚨 Lethargy 🚨 Seizures 🚨 Liver Damage

Common foods like fruit (grapes, apples) and bread can easily grow mold if left out for too long. Even small amounts of moldy food can be dangerous to your pet's health!

If you suspect your pet has eaten moldy food, contact your vet immediately. Early treatment can help prevent serious health issues. 🏥💉

Keep your pets safe by properly storing food, cleaning up leftovers, and being cautious with scraps. Let’s keep those tails wagging and those furry bellies happy and healthy! 🐾❤️

This March, we’re focusing on the most common toxins we see at the clinic – and we’re starting with Ma*****na Toxicity. With ma*****na now legal, it’s important to remember that pets can accidentally ingest it, even if you don’t use it yourself. 🍃🐾

🍃Dilated pupils
🍃Lethargy or unusual sleepiness
🍃Vomiting

How to Prevent It:
Keep ma*****na products, edibles, and plants out of your pet’s reach.
Be cautious when walking outdoors – pets can pick up remnants off the ground.

We Won’t Judge – We’re Here to Help!
If you think your pet has ingested ma*****na, reach out to us immediately! The sooner we know, the faster we can treat your pet and help them recover. While we haven’t seen a lethal case, getting medical care is crucial to a quick recovery.

Common Question: Will My Pet Still Live a Full Life Without Teeth? 🦷

We often get asked by concerned pet owners whether their pets can still live a full and happy life if they need all their teeth removed. The answer is YES!

For pets with advanced periodontal disease, removing all the teeth can actually be the best option to help them live pain-free and prevent further health issues. Here's why:

Pain Relief: If your pet is suffering from infected or damaged teeth, removing them can bring immediate relief, allowing them to eat, play, and live comfortably.

Adaptability: Pets can adapt remarkably well to life without teeth! They still enjoy their favorite foods (softened if needed) and continue to live joyful lives.

Better Health: By removing the teeth, we’re eliminating the source of pain and preventing the spread of infection to other parts of the body, like the heart and kidneys.

If your pet is struggling with dental disease, don’t worry—they can still thrive without their teeth! Contact us today for a dental check-up and to discuss the best treatment plan for your pet’s health. 🐾

Tooth Resorption in Cats🐾

Tooth resorption occurs when the body starts to break down and absorb a cat’s own teeth, leading to painful conditions that can affect their eating and overall health.

Here’s what you need to know:

Signs of Tooth Resorption: Cats may drool, have difficulty eating, or show signs of discomfort like pawing at their mouth. Bad breath or missing teeth can also be a clue.

Why It Happens: The cause of tooth resorption isn’t fully understood, but it can result in severe pain and eventually tooth loss if left untreated.

Treatment: If caught early, dental cleanings or extractions can help alleviate pain and prevent further damage.

If you notice any of these signs or are concerned about your cat’s dental health, book an appointment with us today. Early detection and treatment are key to keeping your cat comfortable and pain-free!

Why Is a Dental Cleaning Important for Your Cat? 🦷

Regular dental cleanings are essential to keep your cat’s teeth and gums healthy, prevent bad breath, and avoid more serious health problems. Here’s why a dental cleaning for your cat is a must:

Prevents Gum Disease & Tooth Loss 🦷: Tartar buildup and gum disease can lead to painful tooth loss and affect your cat's ability to eat.

Protects Overall Health 🐱: Oral infections can spread bacteria throughout your cat’s body, potentially impacting vital organs like the heart, kidneys, and liver.

Fresher Breath 😺: No more stinky cat breath! A dental cleaning helps keep your cat's mouth fresh and clean.

If you’ve noticed your cat’s breath is less than pleasant or if they’re showing signs of discomfort while eating, it may be time for a dental cleaning. Don’t wait—schedule today and give your cat the gift of a healthier smile! 😁
