A note to all our jolly and joyous customers! 😊

The holidays are fast approaching, and as such we encourage you to make sure your furry loved ones are stocked up on their medication refills, prescription diets and other supplies, by contacting us no later than December 17th.

You see, with the holidays falling within the middle of the weeks, our access to supplies and shipments will be hampered. We want to be sure we're prepared for your pets' needs! Regular shipments will resume after January 6th, 2025.

To contact us regarding your needed items, please use email [email protected], preferably, or call, (902)532-7387. The same issue applies to products shipped to us via our online shopping platform, myVetStore.
*** if you're not familiar with that option, please visit our website, www.portroyalanimalhospital.com and follow the link! This also gives you the option of having prescription diets and other supplies (not prescription medications) shipped right to your door!

This is also a great chance to share our Holiday Hours, but please remember, in case of a veterinary emergency, our clients are asked to call (902)532-7387 and follow the prompt for assistance.

More news of Lynn’s retirement:

We had a staff meeting last week that doubled as Lynn’s send off lunch, and equipped her with a supply of some of her faves/daily habits…..cherry Coke Zero and fishermen’s friends lozenges, lol……but also with her first riddle/clue to embark on “Lynn’s Amazing Race Retirement Treasure Hunt” that took her several local businesses where she’d pick up the next riddle/clue (and “treasure”) that brought her to the next business, and so on. In true Lynn fashion, she was game! “Challenge accepted!”, she said, as she left that day.
I want to thank the participating businesses who were all so accommodating and helped me carry out this Amazing Race journey.
The final riddle led her to The Whiskey Teller at Founder’s House for a dinner in her honour. She was joined by former and current team members who all wished her well, and was presented with a bound book of handwritten heartfelt messages from our appreciative pet parents.
We will never forget her service to this industry. 🐾❤️🐾

We're HIRING!

VETERINARY ASSISTANT & CLIENT SERVICE REP

Hours are full-time while the hospital is open: M,Tu,Th -7:45am to 5pm, Wed - 8am to 5pm, and Fŕ - 8am to 5pm.

The starting wage is $18/hr, plus benefits.
After a 3 month probationary period, we offer a medical/dental plan, contributing 50%; a group retirement savings plan, and discounted veterinary services.
Two weeks of paid vacation after the first 12 months.

Interested and successful candidates will be asked to come for a one, 1/2-day, working interview.

Our environment is often fast-paced and candidate will need to "change gears" often, by times; conversely, when not as hectic, candidate should be able to "keep busy" to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly tasks are complete.

We are all working hard to serve you in a timely and professional manner (while also stopping for belly rubs!)

Please be patient.

Please call ahead for prescription refills, diets, or other supplies. Please allow for 24-48 hrs before pick up. This is especially true for prescription renewals requiring a DVM's oversight.

Please wait to be called to the reception desk when it is clear that reception is serving others.
Please recognize that reception is responsible for answering phones first and foremost, and your service may be interrupted.

As they say, all good things must come to an end, and such has been our work family that has included Lynn Scott for the past 20+ years.

Lynn has decided the time has come for her to retire!

October 4th is her last day at Port Royal Animal Hospital, and while we are very sad about that (and a bit dazed wondering what we will do without her), we would like to take this time to celebrate her and invite you to do the same!

Please feel free to stop in the office to wish her well and perhaps take a moment to write a little note (well wishes or a fond or funny memory involving her), in the memory book we have available.

Our team said “goodbye and happy life” to one of our own recently. 😢Jackie K has been a beloved member of our team, sharing her capable vet tech skills and boundless compassion for animals (and people) with us all for the past 2 years. She, with her sweet family, both 2 and 4-legged, have moved back to BC! While we will miss her terribly, we are grateful for the time we had together, and wish The Kilback’s all the best in their next adventure! 💕
