Finally, we took the puppies outside. The weather has been bitterly cold and icy. Mom was there to supervise. We're hoping for warmer days to arrive soon so we can spend more time outside before heading back inside to play. Nearly 7 weeks old

Here we are at Day Three. The first few days are a little hairy lol. Mom dosent feel much like eating and I watch the babies weight a few times a day to make sure they are not losing to much, but we are back on track and it’s looking good. There healthy hungry boys and we will start our Early neurological stimulation exercises every day soon

Georgia and Alice love the water and swimming. Silas hasn’t made up his mind on this yet

We’re falling back into summer mode. Oh how We love this time , a long winter, puppies, trips away, it’s time to enjoy the summer . Georgia is in full beauty mode right now, she’s just over 2 years old and a 110 lbs , her coat is just magnificent , we’re giving everyone codliver oil and raw eggs every day. Alice is looking o great shape after her puppies. But as usual the coat is blown and won’t be back till fall, probably ok for the summer. Silas is also in great shape , but we can’t get him in the water yet, 😂😂😂 he just dips his toes in I think when it’s hot enough he will be in There too ..

And we’re off to the vets. A good 45 minute drive and we get our first experience in a vehicle . We did great

Today is our big bath day and this morning we have been practicing our “manding” basically learning how to “ask” or communicate, making eye contact. This is a big part of seeing a puppy switched on, alert and ready to learn and communicate with thier human It’s amazing to watch it go from crazy jumping chaos to quietly sitting and watching and waiting. Pretty awesome for an 8 week old Puppy. They are learning and growing at an incredible rate right now. Thanks to Sophia for coming to help today, it really does take two people to do videos whilst working with the puppies.

Here we are. Going into our 8th week..it’s here. And what a beautiful bunch of puppies they are. Vet visit is on Thursday and then it’s time to meet our new families we are outside enjoying the beautiful sunshine this morning

After our short exercise in loud startle noises we are getting ready to relax and have the first of many naps today 🥰🥰💤💤

This morning after breakfast we went outside for the 15 mins it actually stopped raining, it was just a light misty rain . Then we came back inside and did some loud startle noises. We are not in the occasional fear period times they go through and every one just watched inquisitively and then got all excited when I called them lol. They did great, not one puppy ran away scared , a good exercise in confidence building .

Life is so much richer with a Berner

I couldn't imagine not having a dog in my life, and we have had a few breeds, but the Bernese Mountain dog top them all. Why, they are funny, loyal, totally in love and connected with their family, smart, playful, did i mention loving, love to travel in vehicles, swim, play with kids large and small, love to hang out with you wherever you are, dont need a whole ton of energetic exercise, but love to go for long hikes with you, they are obedient, slightly stubborn but very easy to train, they do dig a few holes when bored, but thats a minor compared to everything they give back.
