When a volunteer tells you your application has been approved, that means you have been approved to adopt. However, if there is more than one applicant for that kitten, it does not mean that kitten is yours.

We try our best to avoid confusion by emailing everyone once a decision is made but as we are waiting to hear back from one of the applicants, I had not yet sent the emails to those who had applied.

So, to clarify, approval means approval to adopt. If there is only one application and your home suits the needs of the kitten, you will receive an official email from CARMA saying you are approved to adopt that particular kitten.

If there is more than one application, once a decision is made as to which home will receive the kitten, and we have confirmation from that applicant (they have 24 hours from the time the email is sent), emails will then be sent to the other applicants to let them know they are approved but the kitten they were interested in is no longer available.

At this point Pumpkin Spice is adopted and Jack-o-Lantern is adoption pending. The applicant has until 12:00 today to let us know if they are adopting him. If not, we move on to the next family that was approved to adopt. It's hard when you have so many people wanting the same kitten but we try our best.

It is a bittersweet moment here tonight. I know sweet Pumpkin Spice is going to her new home, and well I am so excited for her and her new family. She will have a fantastic home. I am waiting on Mr Jack-o-lantern new family to confirm all the little details tomorrow and he will go to his forever home to, he is going to another fantastic home. I love them to bits, but I am very happy for both of them babies.

Hello from Calvin, Hobbes and Max. They are doing so well. My neighbor Shey visits them every night and they are so use to her. Max is coming along nicely. I will post a video of him in the comments. He is purring up a storm.

Sorry for the late night been a busy day. Calvin Hobbes and cousin Max are doing wonderful. They had two sets of visitors today and got lots of snuggles and play time. They are really progressing it's awesome to watch. Love to all!

Hello from Susan's Tabby Crew. Calvin, Hobbes and Cousin Max are doing great. Calvin and Hobbes like to be picked up and Max is a work in progress. They are so playful. We are having a blast. They had visitors tonight and Calvin was awesome, Hobbes was coming along, but Max is still let me watch mode. Hahahaha 🤣😂. Love to all.

Today we have a broken heart.....

We are going to have to spay and neuter 12-14 week old kittens and put them back at their colony as we have no one to work with them. The first one was just trapped and although afraid, I can reach in and touch it. If that were not the case I would not be making this post.

Do you know how that feels?

We are full. I personally have had as many as 22 kittens in my house this past summer to fall while I was supposed to be on vacation (yep, my fault, I agree). I cannot continue doing that. I have to work to pay my bills the same as everyone else. I currently have 9 foster kittens but this weekend will have 12 as some fosters will not be around on the weekend so I am taking their kittens as well. Plus we have kittens to be transported to the vet Saturday afternoon.

With that many, I cannot put the time and effort in that it takes to socialize even one more kitten. And sticking them in a crate with little to no socializing taking place just means they will be older scared kittens that no one will want to adopt.

So, TNR it will be. The people who want to help already have cats. We know who you are so you don't have to say anything. We know there are people out there with the time but they do not have the willingness and we can't do anything about that.

I just think you should know what we as rescuers go through. Adopting out a kitten we have fostered for weeks or months makes us cry...but it's happy tears. Tomorrow I will cry, but they will be heart wrenching sad tears. And for that reason, my time with CARMA will be drawing to an end in 2025. I truly hope others will come forward to keep things going but the heartbreak is getting to be way too much.

I"mmmmmmmm bbbbbaaaaccckkk... Mauhahahahahaha!!!!!!!!! So I am home and got some of my fosters back. I have Calvin, Hobbes and cousin Max back. They are settling in the Kitten room very well. Hobbes has is favorite spot already, Calvin is playing with everything and Max is trying to figure out his hiding spot. I love my boys. Calvin is ready for adoption, Hobbes is to but he really needs to trust his new parent first. Max still needs some time but he did really well tonight. Love to all.
