Hi to all the friends of Betty Lynn Tattersall. Below is the info on her Celebration of Life and Memorial Donations being collected. Please feel free to message me or email at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Betty Lynn Tattersall was born on December 17, 1942 and left this world December 17, 2023 at the age of 81. She was predeceased by her husband Jim Tattersall and son Troy Tattersall. Left behind to mourn her passing is her son Jamie Tattersall of Whitecourt, Alberta.
Born and raised in Edmonton, she spent the past 52 years on their farm in Calmar. She and her family raised, trained and showed Arabian Horses of all disciplines. Betty Lynn was so many things...wife, mother, horse show clothing designer, side saddle maker, leather craftswoman, horsewoman, historian and most of all someone who was a dear friend to many.
A Celebration of her Life is planned for March 9, 2024 at the Royal Hotel Edmonton Airport, 8050 Sparrow Drive, Leduc Alberta at 1:30. A light lunch will be served. In true BL fashion, the dress code will be "a touch of bling".
In lieu of flowers,it is asked that if you are so moved, to make a donation to the 2024 Canadian National Arabian Championship Show in support of the Side Saddle Championship classes. There will be a brief slide show and presentation after the last Saturday afternoon class to honor her memory.
Funds can be e-transferred to [email protected] or mailed to Betty Lynn Tattersall Fund, 21569 Wye Road, Ardrossan, AB T8E 2J2. Please make any cheques out to Courier Equine Park.

Betty-Lynn Tattersall (December 17, 1942 - December 17, 2023) had a passion for side saddles and the Arabian horse. She and her late husband Jim, supported riders and horse shows across North America in so many ways. They competed, coached, hauled horses, judged shows and were fierce supporters of everyone they knew. In honor of that passion, her friends and family ask that if you are so moved, to make a donation to the 2024 Canadian National Arabian Championship Show in support of the Side Saddle Championship classes. There will be a brief slide show and presentation after the last Saturday afternoon class to honor her memory.
Funds can be e-transferred to [email protected] or mailed to Betty Lynn Tattersall Fund, 21569 Wye Road, Ardrossan, AB T8E 2J2. If sending a cheque, please make it out to Courier Equine Park.

A high five to Cathryn Holowaychuk who had a ring made and donated it to us for our Working Equitation bull. It has been a struggle to find a metal one that will work with the way Ferdinand is built. I should also mention that Ferdinand was donated by Janet McGeer. Another client Angela Loewen very politely made a bell stand and donated it. ( The Bob built one may have been a tiny bit wonky!) She also created our numbered markers. AND Linda Desjarlais donated the slalom poles. She had dreams of pole bending but thought this might be better! Did I forget anyone? Oh yes Mary G. who isn't on Facebook but is our constant source of yogurt lids for the Jill Barron marker system. Way to go Team CEP!

Take some time to look at this auction full of history. Jim Tattersall trained and showed Arabian horses for years. Betty Lynn Tattersall specialized in side saddles...teaching, riding and finally making them. She sewed show clothes of all sizes/types and was a collector of many things. Jim and Betty Lynn had a museum on their farm dedicated to the western way of life. Take an evening to browse through the auctions of their belongings. There are two listed on Beck's Auction site. https://bid.beckauctions.com/auctionlist.aspx Just scroll down to find them listed as Saddle Museum and Shop
