Deadline for show entries & BBQ is noon August 7. Avoid late fees and email your entries to [email protected].

Book your stalls by noon August 8 and they will be bedded/ready for your arrival and cleaned out at the end of the show. Bedded stalls are NON-REFUNDABLE after the deadline. I you cancel your booked stall(s) after the deadline, you will be invoiced $20/stall. Stalls that are booked after the deadline, will be assigned by the barn manager and will not be bedded or cleaned for you. Email [email protected] or call 403.391.2091 for stall assignments.

If you want tickets for the BBQ, please help us by ordering them as soon as possible. Please email [email protected] before the deadline to place your order. Tickets are non-refundable after the deadline, thank you for understanding.

If you are competing in the Versatility Division only, please email [email protected] for an amended entry form.

Thanks everyone who turned out for our camp and trail riding trip to Summerland on the long weekend and to Deanna DeCosta for organizing the trip for the rest of us.

For the 2023 Canadian National Show ONLY, we have opened up the Versatility Division to Peruvian part-bloods and all other gaited horses. All five Versatility Classes, including High Point and Reserve High Point award presentation will take place on Saturday, August 12. A special rate applies.

If you know of anyone who owns and rides a gaited horse, who may be interested in competing at the Nationals, please pass this on to them. Or contact Deb Cones at [email protected].

It’s almost spring, we should be thinking about getting our tack out of storage and all the incredible riding locations that are available to us.

Does anyone have any ideas for a group ride or event? If you do, we can help advertise and possibly help with funding. Please send us a PM about your ideas!

There is a group of people who are interested in a trail/camping trip in September. We are considering A-P Guest Ranch which is situated on the Princeton-Kamloops highway in BC, although other locations would be considered. A-P Ranch has hook ups for 4 RV hookups, there is ample dry camping. Prices are $20/day per horse, $30/day dry camping, and $45/day with hook up. A-P also have three beautifully decorated cabins available for rent.

The trip would be early September, dates are flexible but currently there is room for a group the first week of the month.

If you are interested in joining the group, please comment or send a DM with your name and email address. Please also include dates that work best for you. A-P Ranch does not currently have a website, but you can visit their page on Facebook.

Once we get an idea of numbers and dates, we will move ahead with making firm plans.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

As you are all aware, the PHCBC will officially dissolve on December 31, 2022.

BUT ..... keep your eye on this page in the new year, when it changes from the official club page to a group page for Peruvian Horse Owners and Riders. There will still be events happening here in the province going forward, Shows/Clinics/Play Daz/Camping & Trail Riding so stay tuned to get all the news, announcements and updates.

After having to cancel the 2022 AGM earlier this summer, the BOD has rescheduled the meeting to Wednesday, October 5th.

One very important agenda item is a discussion regarding the future of the PHCofBC. Please update your calendar accordingly, we strongly encourage your attendance.

This meeting will be held via Zoom, an invitation will be sent out a few days prior to the meeting.

The PHCBC invites members and their friends to the 4th Annual Trail Ride and Campout July 22-25 . This year we are going to A-P Guest Ranch outside of Princeton, BC. This is an old ranch site with a huge area with lakes to explore. There is power available to a few sites and 12 good size pens (shareable) available and lots of space for dry camping. They have an old "saloon" we are able to use as covered space, even a hoe-down if we want 🙂. Cost is $30 per campsite/night and $10 per horse/pen/night.
