🌟It's Raffle Time! You won't want to miss this!🌟

With our 4th Annual Feliz Naughty Dog Craft and Bake Sale only one week away we have the first of a series of incredible raffle baskets and bundles up for grabs! (You may have already caught a glimpse of some of them if you attended our Killer Karaoke Night. 😁)

Tickets are a $5 donation for 10 tickets and you can get as many tickets as you like to increase your chances of winning! All baskets and bundles are available and made possible thanks to the generosity of donors! ❤️

You'll be able to see this basket and others in person at The 4th Annual Feliz Naughty Dog Craft and Bake Sale event next weekend, November 10th! The draw for the winners will be held on Friday, November 29th so you'll have plenty of time to enjoy them or wrap them up for the holidays! 😊

You can e-transfer us at [email protected]. *Please specify in the memo of your e-transfer that it is for "raffle" and include your phone number or email. We want to be able to contact you when you win!! You can also come into the shelter during our regular operating hours and purchase tickets in cash.*

Happy Thankful Thursday! Have you got big plans for Halloween? 🎃

Today we'd like to interrupt any spooky shenanigans to send out our thanks to the Arnprior Legion. On Saturday night we had our Killer 🔪🩸 and the Legion was generous in letting us use their space. It was such a Spook-tacular night! And thanks to DJ Brenda James, entertainment abound with all kinds of killer karaoke. 🤩

Thanks to the organizers and everyone who made this event possible, $375 was raised for the animals in care here at the shelter! This is a great contribution to the ongoing medical costs we juggle, thank you! And thank you to all who came out to enjoy the fun! There were some really wild costumes! 😆

Also many of our beloved furry family members find all the strange noises and visuals scary so please provide them a safe and secure space. 🖤

Some good safety tips for tomorrow 🎃

Halloween is Tomorrow!

Whether you're out trick or treating, or home handing out candy, here are some safety tips to keep everyone safe while they're being spooky.

For trick or treating:
🎃 Go with a buddy or a group. It's easier to see a larger group at night than a single person and in a group everyone can watch out for each other.
🎃 Stick to sidewalks and crosswalks when they're available. Stay out of roadways.
🎃 Look both ways before crossing the street.
🎃 Bring flashlights, glow sticks, or other light up accessories. Add reflective tape to make it easier to be seen (and makes your costumes look cooler)!
🎃 Plan out a route and let others know where you're planning on going. If you have a cell phone with you, have check in points so someone knows where you are.
🎃 Don't enter the car or homes of strangers.
🎃 Stick to well lit areas.
🎃 Be prepared for weather. It's Canada...so anything can happen. Plan to wear layers or protection with your costume to stay warm and dry.

For handing out candy:
🎃 Keep your lights on for the safety of yourself, trick or treaters, and so everyone can be easily seen.
🎃 Clear a safe and accessible pathway for people to reach your front door or where you are handing out candy.
🎃 Secure any pets in the home so there are no unwanted interactions or escapes and it will help your pets feel safer with so much activity and strange people coming to the door.
🎃 Instead of having any candles or open flames that could pose a fire hazard, use battery operated light sources for decorations.

If you're traveling on Halloween:
🎃 Be attentive and watch carefully for small children and extra pedestrians.
🎃 Don't drink and drive or take medicinal substances and drive.
🎃 Be careful backing up or of any blind spots. With more small children running around they can be easily missed.
