Our page here has been woefully neglected. It's because it's attached to my old account and I have to log out of my new one and back into the old one to post here, and I am lazy ;-) I have just created a new page with much easier access for me. I hope you join us!

Rebel will be celebrating when he wakes up in the morning, he now has a sponsor!!!!!! Woohoo!!! Thank you so much Lesa Marie!

Doc, aka Ducky, is our only farm pig still looking for his sponsor. He was also found wandering in Oakville as a little piglet and taken to the Oakville Humane Society. We took him is as a companion for 2 other piglets we had at the time, Stormy and Truly. It was an odd little family, as Doc and Stormy were two pink farm piglets, and Truly was an all-black potbellied pig. Truly has since moved on to become a member of a potbelly herd, and Doc and Stormy are part of our bigpig herd. He's our biggest boy, over 800 pounds at last check, but he defers to the ladies in the herd. Doc can be sponsored for only $20 a month.

Rebel is a sweet, sweet little pig, on the run at a very early age with Domino. He was scooped up and delivered to the Oakville Humane Society. He had some health issues when we first picked him up, but they're all resolved now and he's a happy camper. He loves bellyrubs more than anything, and he's one of the few pigs here who will let us trim his hooves in return for one. He is still looking for that special someone who will be his monthly sponsor, a squeal of a deal at only $10!

Domino is also still looking for a sponsor. He and his brother, (we think) were found wandering alone, as little piglets and taken to the Oakville Humane Society. We took them both in, and introduced them to Pugsley, and they've been fast friends ever since. Domino and his little herd love nothing more than to be let loose to roam the farm, spending most of their time in the hay field.

Thought I would share a pigture of some of the pigs still wishing for a monthly sponsor. Milo's family surrendered him about 4 years ago, because they moved to a condo and he was disturbing the other tenants when he screamed in the elevator to go outside. So they stopped taking him outside. They wanted a better life for him. He's a bit of a curmudgeon, doesn't particularly like people he doesn't know, nor any of the other pigs. But he loves us, and loves his life here on the farm, spending many happy hours wandering, sleeping under the cedars, eating grass, and the occasional foray into the neighbour's field to eat corn.

Hear ye Hear ye, a special announcement- WUZZLE has his very own monthly sponsor! Thank you so much Amy A!

Ride for Rescued Animals

The ride is over, but the group has a goal in mind, and you can still donate! In case you missed it, 4 members of Guelph Pig Save and 2 alternate riders/support peeps bicycled over 260 km in two days, to raise awareness and funds for 4 Ontario sanctuaries, one of them being Ruby Ranch. They made stop-overs at each sanctuary where a vegan potluck was held to welcome them. Please hop on over to their blog and help them reach their goal! All the rescued animals thank you!

We had such a nice time with the vegan potluck on Saturday. So many people came out to support these amazing activists, and the 4 sanctuaries. Thank you so much.

This is Baby Tavia. She looks sweet and innocent, doesn't she? Looks can be deceiving. She attacks every pig she meets, no matter that they outweigh her 10 to 1. We were told she was spayed, but in the last few days, she's been a terror, biting and attacking us as well as the other pigs. It looks to me like a hormone-fueled rage, so I don't think she has been spayed. A trip to the vet is in her near future.

Stannie, the day after giving us a heck of a scare by disappearing into the hay field just before dark. We searched and called, and he was no where to be found. Finally, we borrowed our neighbor's Gator and went driving through the waist high grass. We found him in minutes, running gratefully towards us. It was 11:00 and he was exhausted. The next day he didn't venture very far at all.

L.J and Sq**rt. Got a good scam going on. They said something about Girl Scout cookies, so I let them in. They did not have cookies.
