The handsome Jacob recently came in for dental surgery to get his smile healthy and bright! Our expert team walked his owner through the pre-operative intake questions, then did some health checks and prepped him for surgery! Once under anaesthetic, Jacob had X-rays to identify any problem areas to repair, as well as an overall dental cleaning, all the while being closely monitored by our Registered Veterinary Technicians.

Some diseases are tranmissible to humans, but even if they’re not they take a toll on your emotional and mental well-being as you help nurse them back to health.

Some diseases (like canine heartworm) are transmitted by mosquitoes. If your pet is infected and gets bitten by a mosquito, there’s a risk that other pets in the area could become infected.

Pets are a lot like chips…you can’t have just one! 😜
But bringing a new pet into your home can have its risks and challenges. Here are some things to consider:
• do your research. Know what you’re signing up for when you get a new pet, and ensure that you’re able to commit the time, energy and financial resources to properly care for the new family member.
• ensure the new pet is healthy. Verify vet records if possible, and ensure any appropriate vaccinations or treatments have been given prior to coming home. 💉
• introduce new pets to existing pets slowly, preferably in a neutral territory. Ensure everyone has space to feel safe and responsible adults on hand to maintain safety.
• book an appointment to come see us as soon as possible to get your new pet’s care plan started! 🩺
