So proud to have owned and be trained by this dog.

So proud to have owned and be trained by this dog.

My first ever pull I went to I didn't give a thought to the little black spitfire dog I had. She didn't have good structure, and she wasn't bred for it. What I didn't realize though was that weight pull isn't all about having the perfect dog; it's about having the strongest bond, and having heart. B...

This weekend was our Honor Weekend where we take a minute to remember any dogs that have passed in the last year. This year we had the following:

Oakley
Oakley was a promising dog who didn’t get the chance to complete, a reminder that a dog’s life is all too short.

Angel
Angel was one of the best this club has ever seen, proven by holding the percentage record on rails for our club as well as 4 year end percentage awards, and one overall award, quite an accomplishment for a smaller sized dog. Angel will be missed greatly as she was a delight to watch compete, and she has been forever enshrined in the WCPC Hall of Fame since 2017.

Fleur
Fleur was the picture of what we look for – consistency over time. Fleur was in the top three for his weight class each year he competed from 2018-2023 and earned the highest title available in the IWPA. Fleur won overall end of season awards 3 times and percentage awards once. Fleur will be missed by all who loved to snuggle and pet him at the pull and owns the prestigious award of “longest time spent on the track” due to his preference to wait to pull for the longest time possible.

We will miss you dogs, a reminder to everyone to hug your dogs and give them the best life – these dogs certainly did.
