Today’s post is a special one as we wanted to share our appreciation for the Bow Valley community 🐕

This holiday season, we are giving back to our friends at as well as for what we believe is an extremely important cause ❤️

If you have anything at home that is spare / unused (food, toys, leashes etc), we encourage you to bring it to daycare with you so we can pass it on to our local rescue centres. Feeling really merry? 🎅🏼 Buy something from our retail and we will add it to the donation pile 😊

Meet Emily 👋🏼

Emily moved to Canada in April 2023 from Southern England to explore the mountains. 🏔️

Emily has grown up with German Shepherds (at one point there were 17 of them!!) and one of her favourite memories was when she was younger at Christmas, her family went out for the morning. When they got home, they saw that their youngest pup, Cassie, had eaten the whole raw turkey which was supposed to be Christmas dinner. Oops! 🤣🎄

Fun Fact: She has worked as an international track work rider, riding race horses in New Zealand and Australia! 🐴

Emily has really missed being around dogs and has been naming the ones she recognises around town. She likes to know their real names and loves it even more when they recognise her out on her walks or runs! 🥰

Naturally, her favourite task at daycare is cuddles. No such things as too many dog cuddles! 💕 A memorable moment so far for Em is that she remembers Iris giving her a shady look and running away on her first day. She now jumps on her and wriggles with excitement 💙

Outside of work, Emily loves hiking / climbing the mountains. She actually has a spreadsheet of the ones she’s done in Canada so far! She’s currently training to climb Mount Vinson one day; the highest mountain in Antarctica 😯

Today is a VERY special day as we are celebrating…

Our 🎉 7th year Anniversary 🎉

The past year at Veronica’s has been a big and exciting one! We have been busy with construction recently, improving both our daycare and overnight boarding areas. All the more space for those doggy activities! Coming in to our 8th year, we are looking forward to continuing our revamp. One difference you may have noticed is Copper (picture 1) has a new box & we added some colour to our front room! 💚

Of course our highlight, as always, has been welcoming new dogs & puppies to our family at daycare, as well as seeing all the beloved familiar faces. Old, young, small, large, we have enjoyed every minute getting to know ALL of the pups 🐶

And a special mention must go towards the staff 🩷
Florence celebrated her 5th year at Veronica’s this October 4th. She pours all of her love into the dogs and their space everyday; daycare would not be the same without her (& Joey 🐶). Jess also recently entered her 3rd year at Veronica’s with her Taura 🐶 - both essential to our team! As well as welcoming new members of staff (Billy, Ella, Kalee & Emily) who have been an incredible addition to our family 🥰

You also may have noticed the owner JF has been away for some time, however he is super excited to come back in the new year and give all the pups extra special hugs!

Lastly, our biggest thanks go to you. We appreciate ALL of our customer’s support beyond words and we couldn’t do this without you. A loving & positive environment is our priority, we are so happy we can create a ‘home away from home’ for your dogs! 🏡
