I know e-collars sometimes get a bad wrap but like any tool, if you use it correctly they can do wonders!! If your dog has inconsistent recall or likes to ignore you when there's other dogs or distractions around... This collar could be for you! Training collars come in many different modes including beep, vibrate and stimulation. Not every dog requires every mode but TRUST ME you'll see a difference if you train them properly with an e-collar. A dog with a rock solid recall can have a lot more freedom and they are less likely to get you in trouble as well, because we all know that if your dog doesn't come when you call them, should they really be off-leash? Adventure Daycare!! I haven't really promoted this much but in the next few days I think I'm going to showcase this a bit more. It's something I've wanted to really get out there and get more dogs involved with. I have a few clients who have signed up and they couldn't be happier! Not just for dogs who have lots of energy to burn but if you're going to be gone for a long time, maybe out of the norm and your pup is going to be home alone, , send them for a full day with us!! Basically it's the same as a regular hike - I pick up and drop off BUT they get to spend the whole day with us! So that usually includes 2 hikes, lots of socialization, lots of exercise, a bit of down time between hikes for rest and sometimes even new, cool experiences like outdoor patios, dog friendly markets, trips to a new area to explore! Sometimes your pup might get a bit excited or when they are walking on-leash they tend to pull you. If you want a bit more control, I generally just slide their collar up higher. If you use their collar in a similar way to a slip lead, high up under the chin and right behind the ears, then they won't be putting excess pressure on their neck/windpipe and you'll have more control and less pulling! This is just a short term solution, it's always good to teach your dog how to walk nicely on-leash.
