Happy Thanksgiving 🌰🍁🍂

So thankful for all of my amazing clients both Pups & Owners. I'm lucky to have such a great job that lets me be in nature every day, surrounded by the best dogs, living their best lives!

I'm also super thankful for all the time I get to spend with my own dog Willa. She's a bit of a wild girl sometimes but I wouldn't have it any other way. They say you don't always get the dog you want but rather the dog you need. Without her I wouldn't be Hound Hiker ❤️🥰

I love my little adventure buddy .the.red

Even if she cries when I'm out of view, or whines her head off because I won't let her go under the bridges, or pulls my arm off with all the smells on the trail...

She does a pretty great job at assisting me up hills and she's always a good sport about me taking her picture but most importantly she's always up for an adventure & a hike!

I was told that off-leash dog walking is very similar to a summer day camp...

🐾The "kids" are all eager and excited
🐾Everyone's running around, having fun with their friends
🐾They get to explore and learn new things
🐾They get to ride the "bus" to and from
🐾Snacks are provided
🐾There's always that camp counselor following everyone around occasionally telling them they can't do that or to come back to the group 🤣

Today I think I really did look the part!
I'm constantly told how great my job is and how friendly and well behaved the dogs are. Don't I know it!! 🥰🤩

Oh and don't forget that nothing brings people more joy then watching 6 dogs jump out of my little vehicle! "They just keep coming"

Sometimes your pup might get a bit excited or when they are walking on-leash they tend to pull you. If you want a bit more control, I generally just slide their collar up higher. If you use their collar in a similar way to a slip lead, high up under the chin and right behind the ears, then they won't be putting excess pressure on their neck/windpipe and you'll have more control and less pulling! This is just a short term solution, it's always good to teach your dog how to walk nicely on-leash. Everyone always gets clipped to the leashes if I have to park near a road for safety. This was also great to clean everyone off, one at a time, before they were allowed in the car! I just clip everyone to the back of my vehicle!
