I love a good candid wedding moment. Yes those posed and “trending” shots are so cute. But I truly feel like there is nothing more special than those candid moments of love between you (or your guests) and your dog. This quiet moment between Kaitlyn and Molly just shows how much love they have for each other and is so special.

We found out this morning that we are nominated for “Best Wedding Service” in the Orillia Readers Choice Awards! Thank you to whoever nominated us. This is huge as we are not a traditional wedding service, and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the ongoing support.

Nomination period is open until November 29. You can nominate every day. The top 3 nominees from each category will than move to the finals where you are only allowed to vote once.

A very common question I get asked by couples is what is the best way to secure the rings on the dog for them to bring down the aisle. Here is the solution I have found that works best: The Ring Keeper (found on Etsy). It’s around $35. And clips onto their collar or harness and zips closed. It’s got two pockets inside for the rings. It’s very easy to unclip when the dog gets up to the alter, and get the rings out of (unlike if you tie them on).

They come in multiple colours as well, and double as a great ring case for when you are travelling (like on your honeymoon).

I have said it before and I will say it again… include your dog in getting ready photos! It makes for super sweet candid moments as it’s usually far more relaxed than couples portraits. I also love when both the groom and the bride take turns with some getting ready photos with the pup, so they each get their special solo moments with their fur baby!

Also how amazing are these custom socks?!

The annual Controlled Deer Hunt in Simcoe County is next week, from Monday November 4th through Friday 8th inclusive.

Might be a good idea to stay out of the woods that week and let the hunters have the woods. If you do ride, wearing bright colours is highly recommended!

If you are hiking, mushroom picking, mountain biking or walking your dog in the Simcoe County forests next week, wearing blaze orange and putting some orange on your dog is a good idea for visibility and safety.

The moment when your dog thinks your bouquet is actually a tasty snack 🤣 Note the petal hanging from Halle’s lip.

Thankfully the flowers were not damaged and she only had a little nibble. We quickly learned Halle would not be an ideal candidate for photos with any flowers near her as she thought they were snacks.

These are the moments that have to be expected with dogs at weddings, dogs are unpredictable. Did we expect Halle to try and eat the flowers? No, but she took a nibble and we laughed, adjusted, kept the flowers away from her and moved on with photos. But this will remain one of my favourite photos from that wedding, because their expressions were all so priceless. I only wish someone also captured my expression too 🤣🤣

Join Our Team – Pet Wedding Chaperone (Casual/Part-Time)
Are you a sociable, outgoing individual? Do you love dogs and weddings - or better yet - do you love dogs at weddings? Well, Royal Paws Pet Services, may be looking to add you to our team and help bring more dogs to weddings!

We are looking for 1 or 2 casual/ part-time employees to be Pet Wedding Chaperones in the 2025 wedding season.

We are looking for someone who loves dogs and is comfortable handling all shapes, sizes, and breeds. From the smallest of poodles to the biggest of Newfies and Great Danes we handle them all at Royal Paws Pet Services.

So what does a Pet Wedding Chaperone do?
Transport the dog(s) to and from the venue
Exercise the dogs with a walk or hike (on leash only!) before arriving at the venue.
Assist in handling during photos and the ceremony.
Capture as much BTS footage as possible.
Care for the dog throughout the wedding day and possibly overnight or until 1AM.
Foster relationships with not just our clients and their guests, but also with the venue and other vendors - relationships are everything in this business.

Qualifications required:
Prior dog care experience? Yes, please! At least one year minimum.
Pet First Aid? An asset, but not mandatory.
Availability? Fridays and weekends from May - November
A valid driver's license and a trustworthy vehicle.
Must be friendly and outgoing.
Time management is key.
Live in Simcoe County or Muskoka.
Must be 18+ (insurance, we don’t make the rules).
You’ll need to pass a vulnerable sector check.
References? If selected in round one you’ll need to provide three references - and yes we will be calling them.

This past weekend was so dreamy, the fall colours were perfection, couldn’t ask for better fall weather, and the couples were all so lovely.

In other news, I have very limited dates for 2025 season remaining and I have opened 2026 bookings! Please make sure to go to the website and fill out the wedding inquiry form to submit your date request. I respond to all requests within 48 hours. Dates are on a first come first served basis!
