How adorable is this opossum paw?! 🥹❤️
I've been working on keeping a few of my frames more simple and although my brain disputes it, my eyes have been loving the results!! This will look sooo beautiful hung up on a wall.

The opossum paw was processed and mummified in-house, then mounted on a matte red background. The black shadowbox frame has lace added around the sides ✨️

Have you ever seen a dinosaur foot?! This weird looking foot came from a big fluffy, orange silkie chicken and personally, I was shocked by how odd those feet look 🐓🧡
Want to know what was even more shocking?! The fact that their bones and even their skin is pitch BLACK. This is due to a rare genetic mutation known as, fibromelanis.

I kept this one simple; after processing from beginning to end, then mummifying in-house, I mounted it on it's own, on an x-ray paper with two pretty white wolves underneath it. I LOVE how this one turned out, despite feeling the need to add more to it 😅

After a very unexpected and way longer break than I anticipated, I'm super excited to share this new display as I slowly ease back into working full time again!! 💀

✨️ This one includes two coyote vertebrae and sacrum, a skunk skull, two little lady bugs, various dried flowers, rocks, moss, and glass/mirror chips at the base ✨️

When it rains, it definitely pours, that's for sure. After the stomach flu back to back (still unsure if we all got hit by norovirus), then both my husband and I's cars going (thankfully just a faulty alternator for mine), it's been an interesting couple weeks. Winter always tends to bring chaos to my house, for some very unknown reason ahah
~
For those who have pets with me, they have all been checked up on regularly and updates will be sent out shortly! Thank you for your patience during this adjustment period, it has truly helped greatly.
With that being said, incoming pet memorials have been put on hold and I can either add them to a waitlist or refer to a good friend! I will not be taking in anymore pets for memorials until I can ensure I have all the current ones finished and sent back home. I do apologize, but I appreciate the understanding in this decision 🫶🏼🖤

How sweet is this babe?! 🥹💝
This little baby came from a kind hearted individual who does their very best to heal and raise up stray kittens, to allow them to live long, healthy, and comfortable lives with permanent families.
Sadly though, not all of the babies will make it even with the love and care provided to them. I'm so grateful I get the opportunity to give them yet another chance at life, but this time, it's a forever fix ~ quite literally!

Cheddar is officially available to adopt 🐭✨️
This handsome fella is the biggest rat I've taxidermied so far AND the hardest to sew up, resulting in a broken sewing needle, impaled fingers, and a few hours dedicated to just hoping the final stitches looked decent, while using two completely different needles 😅
Anywayssss, here he is, all ready to head to his new home!!

Please note: His back isn't seamless and I can send pictures of it upon request. Sadly due to needing to switch needles halfway through, it affected how well his back closed at the end of the process.

Currently working on my first mummified fox heads 🦊
Although I wish I could be thankful for the warm weather we just had here, it also came with lots of stress, rushing to get something done with the bigger specimens hanging out in my shed 🥴
I'm due to get a new freezer and unfortunately, my shed was no longer sufficient once the temps began to rise.

This time around, I took parts of the pelt (anywhere that wasn't slipping) to tan and offer for use in crafts, paws to mummify, collected fur to place in vials, tails, and their heads. The remainder of each, will be macerated and their bones processed and cleaned.

I do plan on mummifying both with their mouths open, tongues hanging out, and will be replacing their eyes with crystals. I can't wait to share the final results!! ✨️

Another restock done yesterday at !! It's so crazy to think I've been selling out of such an amazing store for over a year now. I'm still so damn grateful to have this opportunity!! ✨️🖤✨️

If you're in Toronto, make sure you stop in to check out LOTS of really unique vendors. You can find almost anything and everything within the walls of, Maker's Market. I always leave with my own goodie bag when I stop in!
Also don't forget, if you would ever like a product dropped off for pickup at the store, I can do so for free on drop off days or for a small fee if I'm not planning to head down for a bit 🫶🏼

I had planned on keeping these only on my story, but I'm also always saying how important it is to share each process, sooo here we are 🤣

I skinned this hedgehog last night and it was the first one I have attempted to skin out so far. It's safe to say, I was scared of impaling myself multiple times throughout the process 😅. However, I'm very happy to say, the process was super easy once I got started and I was able to get a beautiful pelt from doing so!!

The pelt is pre-claimed and I'm now working on oxidizing the skeleton.

* Please don't mind the skin left on the feet, I'm still working on getting better at skinning out paws and I was worried I would lose some toe beans in the process, so I just left it to remove after the pelt was off. I also forgot to take final pictures once I had gutted and removed more before placing in the first ammonia bath.

I've been sharing lots of frozen and unfinished specimens recently, so I do apologize for those who prefer the finished results more. However, this beautiful girl just HAD to be shared asap. I mean, just look at her!!! 😍😍

I'm seriously so grateful to have received this stunning girl; the first reticulated python to come through my doors to preserve. She's between 8-9ft. Sadly, she didn't make it to receive all the treatments needed to help her thrive again and the damage had already been done.

Please remember to adopt, don't shop. There's sadly LOTS of reptiles and amphibians who are awaiting their forever homes with those who will actually care for and love them as they deserve 🖤

My heart is heavy with grief this year as Christmas fast approaches tomorrow. They say that time heals wounds, but some wounds turn into deep scars for a lifetime.
Grief is not linear. It has no timeline. It is not remorseful and it doesn't care who it targets and when. Most days I'm fine and can cope with such losses, but holidays without these two, will never be easy or enjoyed to the fullest and that's okay.

So why am I posting this here?
If it weren't for these two beautiful humans; my mom and dad, All Things Dead would have never even been a thought. Although I can't say I'm grateful for the circumstances around why I began my business, I'm grateful to have found some peace through it and also brought peace to many others through various forms of preservation, pet memorials, commissions, and even just deep conversations. I continuously work at directing my grief into something good, rather than being filled with negativity while feeling it.

This is the second year of, All Things Dead (as of Dec. 18th!!!), and I still can't wait to see where it takes ATD in 2025. The year of 2024 came with a lot of reflecting, some setbacks as we all face from time to time, lots of laughs with amazing new friends, vendors, acquaintances, customers, and lots of tears as well.
I do hope to bring ATD to some smaller towns that have yet to have the opportunity to see specimens, taxidermy, oddities in general, etc.

In saying all of this, please remember, if you aren't feeling the holiday season this year or any year for that matter; it is MORE than okay to not be okay. Please, take care of YOU. That's what matters most during these times.
I'm always a dm away if anyone ever needs a shoulder or even just an ear to listen 🖤✨️

I have been enjoying sharing my process again more recently, which includes the posed and pinned photos, as well as the finished product. It's always so important to show the work that goes into what is typically only shown at the end of it all.
So here's another one, with a stunning orange and brown bullsnake, resting within the eye sockets of this 'cracked' doll head 🐍

The snake has begun drying and so far, I have plans of displaying this one within a cloche. However, we will see what the display looks like in a few weeks 🤫

Introducing sweet baby, Misty 🐈💗
This little love, along with a few of her siblings (they have all been commissioned as wet specimens), were donated to me after they sadly passed away while attempting to nurse them to health. Their mother was a stray and therefore, their chances of survival were slim from the beginning.

Being so tiny and her skin so fragile, she was a bit more difficult to work on, but I'm sooo happy with how she looks in her peaceful sleepy curl 🥹
I'm so grateful to be giving Misty a second chance in her new forever form. She has been posed, pinned, and is currently drying!

Misty has been adopted!! 💗

This big, old, beautiful boy started macerating in February and I figured he wouldn't hit this stage until at least halfway through the summer. I had skinned as much as I could before starting the process, but there was a bit more left than I would have liked - I can admit, skinning was a LOT harder than I originally anticipated, those layers were THICK and went through so many blades 😅 To my surprise though, I checked two days ago to see how much work the bugs really had done over the last few warm weeks and I was able to start pulling a lot more off !! Although this one has been one of the hardest to process so far, seeing that beautiful white skull appearing more and more each time it's worked on, is the most rewarding part.
