CELEBRATING 🥳🎉 LUCY & MOM at The Dogz Lodge Training & Walking Inc 💜

Lucy's first week was spent on learning foundation skills, then her and mom went into the Gentle Leader Program and learned to use her skills with behavior challenges,together. These 2 ladies were a blast to work with! So much fun and laughter 😊😊

Mom was consistent every day creating a beautiful connection with Lucy. Well done!!💜💜💜 A much more confident duo.

The Dogz Lodge had 2 special visitors this week. 💜
Christine (foster Momma) & Charlie came for a visit ,and a few tips on leash skills. Within 30 minutes we all had the pleasure of seeing Charlie relax and have some backyard fun with us. 🏀

Charlie is a lovely little guy and will be a wonderful addition to a forever family. He's sweet & smart and when he warms up very playful. Good lil dude 🐶.

🥳 CELEBRATING 🎉 BEANS & his Momma at The Dogz Lodge 🐾

Beans & Mom have graduated from our Gentle Leader program.

Beans focus on mom is excellent & with consistent practice, they will continue to build confidence together.

Beans loved his training & is no longer barking at the world thru the front window 👍. He ROCKS the training bed and stays in place until mom releases him. That's HUGE!👍

Sir Gregory and Walter extend this PSA to you… Protecting your pets during a heat wave involves several important steps:

1. Provide Plenty of Water: Ensure your pets have constant access to fresh, cool water. Refill their water bowls frequently and consider adding ice cubes to keep the water cooler longer.

2. Limit Exercise: Avoid strenuous activities during the hottest parts of the day. Schedule walks and playtime for early morning or late evening when temperatures are cooler.

3. Offer Shade: If your pets are outdoors, make sure they have access to shaded areas. Trees, tarps, or umbrellas can provide relief from direct sunlight.

4. Never Leave Pets in a Car: Even with windows cracked, the temperature inside a car can rise rapidly, posing a fatal risk to pets.

5. Use Cooling Products: Consider cooling mats, vests, or bandanas designed for pets. These items can help regulate your pet's body temperature.

6. Maintain a Cool Environment: Keep your home cool with fans or air conditioning. If you don’t have air conditioning, create a breeze with fans and keep blinds or curtains closed to block out the sun.

7. Monitor for Heatstroke: Signs of heatstroke in pets include excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, and collapse. If you suspect heatstroke, move your pet to a cooler area, offer small amounts of water, and contact a veterinarian immediately.

8. Groom Appropriately: Regular grooming helps keep pets cool. For some breeds, a summer haircut may be beneficial, but consult a groomer or veterinarian to ensure it’s appropriate for your pet’s coat type.

9. Provide Cool Surfaces: Pets often seek out cool surfaces to lie on. Providing tile or linoleum floors, or wet towels for them to rest on can be helpful.

10. Hydrating Treats: Offer your pets hydrating treats like ice cubes, frozen fruits, or specially made pet popsicles.

Taking these precautions can help ensure your pets stay safe and comfortable during a heat wave.
